I couldn't help but notice he is available on a free transfer and I was so glad back in the day that we didn't sign him for ridiculous money. Ten million seems to be the asking price at the time and I suspected he would never live up to the hype and he didn't make the grade expected of him. Not for me this time either.

No thanks, his wages would be way outside our means anyway, I’d imagine.

This has been mentioned / covered on another thread. Gray never said he did not want to come here. He was all set to come here but we tried renegotiating the agreed fee like Maguire deal.
He then went onto Burnley scored over 20 goals, that season. He didn’t quite cut it in the Prem and went to Watford, and was not at his best. However he did score 10 for QPR in not a full season, this season just gone.
GAYLE said he didn’t want to come and would not talk to us.
