On the BBC website, on the live text thingy, it said at close of play that "all 4 outcomes were still possible".
    What would be the 4?
    Win, lose, draw and ?

Tied mate, if it finishes on the same score with both teams bowled out. Doesn't happen much in tests obviously!

Jamieson likely not batting for them though so if only 2 wickets, looks like we'll go for it and draw looking distant. Agree on stats and history etc. draw looks favourite but reckon it'll be a smashing win or a slightly too gung ho failure haha! All good fun either way like

Haha, well that's the cadence of test cricket isn't it? There are some boring games like, particularly in asia, but the calm before the storm aspect is what it's all about in my opinion. Love the game, just wish I had more time to lounge around watching it. Don't know if it's scars still with me but fancying a glorious England failure trying to score at 8 an over when 4.5 would have done. We'll see, if we can get those wickets for 50 or so should be entertaining

I haven’t found any of this test boring. Scoring at 4 an over in test cricket is absolutely superb. Hope we knock them over cheaply tomorrow morning and get stuck into it

...and it was, slow scoring and no wickets dropping hardly makes for exciting viewing.

now, depending on a declaration we might be lucky and see a run race or we might see england play for the draw being 1-0 up

No I know mate, it's been rattling along, ridiculous test match. I just meant in general with it, normally ebbs and flows, I like that time for the context and texture of the match to take shape over days

NZ'll have to bat canny from here to declare but it is possible, can't see this team playing for a draw unless it's absolutely impossible. They've been trying to get to a position where can win since coming out to bat, no hanging around and getting in in the knowledge it's a good pitch and fast outfield. This approach will fail elsewhere but we can enjoy it here haha

If the weather holds, we could well win this one, a good start in front of a full house is key, .

Be interesting to see how NZ handle this. I'd be going for a dart for 30 mins, try to get 280-300 ahead then dangle the carrot
Really hope they don't just bat the session out and kill the game

Not just this test, for the remainder. Reminds me of when we couldn't work out Labuschagne. I'm not sure we still have

Get Boult out and 260-270 is gettable for this team. I really hope we go for it - I'd rather lose, trying to win than just settle for the draw.

Agreed from the off. But if it becomes 9 an over then the attacking option shrinks. Boult in now so realistic chance at the minute
