What do we watch football for mate. It’s on the pitch. He systematically pulled the club to pieces and only invested when he absolutely had to. Look where we where when he took over and look at the dross he left behind.
So what exactly are you crediting him with. Leaving the club financially sound? PIF have had to inject 167m into the club just to keep it alive.
I'm not sure you understand the point hence why you're arguing a separate one mate. If i buy a debt ridden business and manage to turn that business into one that's self sufficient I've done a good job .. If I then sell it to a someone that's ambitions are to make that business huge then I've done well. If we're talking about customer experience in the meantime that's another matter.. It sucked.
It wasn’t self sufficient. It ran out of money. That is why PIF had to invest upwards of 167m. You won’t win a finance argument with me because I know that inside and out. The reality is PIF can spend what they want with FFP only because he didn’t invest in the playing squad sufficiently over the years he owned the club. He took sponsorship and paid nothing for it. His deals commercially went backwards. All he did was strip the club of all its assets to balance the books and then when there wasn’t much left he had to sell because the cash wasn’t there. Anyways it’s irrelevant now as we have good owners and when I say good I don’t just mean rich.
This is just mental gymnastics mate Mike ashley bought a club leaking money.. We were one of thee only clubs making money year on year a few years down the line until 1. He spent 160 million on players 2. Covid Would you like me to pull out the numbers? Why can't you just accept that I'm saying I hated the ****, hated the product, not ultimately he ran the club as a businesses not for my entertainment. It's the only credit he gets because it is something he did well.
He ran it as an advertisement vehicle. He didn’t do his due diligence when he bought. So he loaned (not invested or gave) the club the money. The balance sheet was no stronger when he left the club compared to when he bought it. There isn’t a single financial positive other than PIF came to the rescue.
Right let's try and make this a little easier for you. Did Mike ashley buy a club in a financial mess? Did Mike ashley fix that problem? Did he sell to the right people in your opinion?
As I've explained several times if we're talking about customer experience then that's another matter and something I give him no credit for. I'm talking and crediting a very specific area of work that's all mate.
The answers were yes mate, but you have chosen to yield when you could've just accepted the point and realised what I'm saying is matter of fact and not opinion. The rest of your arguments are fair enough and I don't think I disagree with, but they were not relevant to the point I made that's all. If you're going to tell someone they're wrong then you should at least answer 3 questions, otherwise it makes me think you've realised my point and don't want to just say "oh yeah I see what you mean"
Anyway sorry gents I know you're all still licking your wounds from the tyrannical reign of mike Ashley.
He took 14 years away from us and shafted everyone left right and centre. He was only ever in it for the advertisement and he admitted it. PIF have had to invest 167m to resolve his ****. AS has publicly said the club was a shambles. Your very own quote AS has said word for word it was in a massive mess. He then got lucky and struck the jackpot.
Anyway GG mate we've moved on... I'll soon find other ways to piss people off unintentionally. That's my style EKITIKE on his way
I’m not pissed off. I’m extremely happy. We have beautiful owners and the club is going in the right direction. Buy I won’t mention Bruce’s comments the other day. Ahem.
