He’s not the answer to our striker issues. If this is another one where Nickson feels he’s found a LWF who should be up front, he’s wrong. Yknow, like he did with Joelinton. Apart from RB, LW is probably the most unimportant position to fill (ASM with Joelinton and Fraser as backup.)

Didn’t say ASM did, but there were a lot of words in the article reminiscent of the way he plays.
I did ask for an Anusectomy. They sent me home with anti biotics. I’m now waiting for my physio phone call to give me some head extraction techniques to try. I remain optimistic that within the next 5 years the free healthcare system will give me a real diagnosis instead of fobbing me off with a series of sticky plasters in the hope I become a funeral homes problem.

He turned us down in January. Appears to be waiting for other offers now. Fair enough, but he isn’t exactly falling over himself to join us. He’s young with zero experience outside his hometown. The change is a big one for him.
One of many reasons I don’t like it. We are not at that point where we can nurture this talent, it’s maybe 2 years too soon. This is an Ashley signing. Risk vs reward to try and find a Coutinho. PSG and Borussia Dortmund have huge resources to manage this kind of talent whereas we’re in more urgent need of Bruno-class players - if top 7 is the aim. We have enough bog standard reserves but our problem is we don’t have PL quality in the starting XI, too many huge gaps in class. CB, currently don’t even have a LB, Wood, Fraser/Almiron, Longstaff are all issues. An understudy - or maybe even a risky replacement - for ASM seems a really strange thing to do.
It smells like the kind of thing Nickson was tasked with under Ashley. And he’s the same bloke that thought Joelinton was a striker, and Wood was a PL player. Maybe he played a part in Bruno arriving and that’s why he’s still in a job, but I’m super sceptical of anything that has a touch of Nickson about it.
Edit; But if he does join, fingers crossed he’s given the time and support he needs to be a success. Morons creating fake Hugo accounts doesn’t exactly help, mind. If I was him looking at social media I’d be thinking twice.

As with everything it should be a balance. We should be looking at getting players for now and players for tomorrow. January was for obvious reasons buying for now but this window should be for both.
Yes it seems a lot of money but I don’t believe the £60M budget anyway. Announce one big sponsorship deal and Bob’s your uncle as well as being the last NUFC player palindrome.
