IN

Forster
Bastoni
Peresic
Spence / Kostic
Bissuma
Eriksen
Jesus ( not sure if he'd leave City's bench for ours though)

OUT

Gollini
Rodon / Tanganga / Sanchez
Emerson
Reguilon
Winks
Bergwijn

Sarr and possibly Gil returning to squad.

If we could do this business in the summer we will be right in the mix next season.

Di Marzio reckons Perisic has definitely chosen to join us. :1980_boogie_down:

Marco Conterio also commenting on it, says £4m a year and a £700k bonus.

80K/week seems a bit low, even considering his age.
That bonus (which I assume is played N games in PL or CL
victory etc) I heartily approve.

There are other reports that say €6m a year which is roughly £100k a week I think but even so it’s still a very modest wage in footballing terms for a high quality free transfer.

I’m also not sure what the £700k bonus is for. Could be a signing on bonus (which is again moderate for a free transfer) or could be performance related. Either way, it feels like a no brainer of a deal for the money we’re supposedly having to pay. £10.7m give or take for two years of Ivan Perisic? Thank you very much.

At the minimum it would be a statement of intent
(strengthening the squad, a Davids type in the fold) .

Of course sport is unpredictable...I was saying in November 2015 that Leicester were in with a real shot at the title and received a lecture from one of your mob on how illogical I was being. I think he was a Vulcan...and a stupid **** to boot. This season, I predicted that we and particularly Nuno, would have a tough season. Some things may not be certain but the can be significantly more likely than not.

I'm not predicting a title challenge next season. I doubt that Conte would put his own money on that. I'm expecting Conte to significantly reduce the gap between us and Liverpool and City and hope that it might just put us in the mix to challenge this season or next. The cups may depend on how deep our squad is filled with quality options or a bit of luck or doggedness at the right time.

Hopefully, the additional £150m means that we're on the way to having enough quality players to compete on all fronts. With Paratici and Conte working on the incomings, I have faith that next season, barring a real injury crisis, we'll have enough to improve on this season significantly.

It's hard for supporters of other clubs to truly appreciate how bad we were until Conte arrived and shook the club and team up...and how the changes, that he implemented. have altered us. Some added quality in 3 or 4 positions and better rotation and competition for places will be likely to see another significant improvement.
Everything is uncertain, including Conte managing Spurs next season, Spurs making the CL next year, etcetera. One thing which can be relied on is that Spurs can't close the gap to Liverpool and Man City in one year. They will need everything to go well to catch Chelsea, with one prerequisite being a rocky transition to the new ownership. Unfortunately, the new owners are all too likely to keep Chelsea there or thereabouts, and may even be able to improve them. The Dodgers are very comparable to the Red Sox in being one of the most popular baseball teams. Unlike them, they have a long history of winning.

Given that Conte has said he wants to compete for big trophies, that leaves one possibility, however faint: the Champions League. He's not a cup coach, but given that Spurs went 2-2-0 against the two best teams in the world this year, you'd have to say it's theoretically possible for them to win any tie. I'd like to see Spurs go all out for it, by bringing in some well-chosen veterans, including Bale, to transform the culture.

Nice to see business being done before the last few days of the window, shows good intent and decisiveness.

Already looking forward to next season
Given that Forster and Perisic are free transfers, realistically it's no surprise that we'd be getting those done first so they'll be guaranteed to be in training on July 1st

The real question is what we do when it comes to player who aren't free agents at the end of June as there's two variables in play: thrashing out an agreement with the other club (especially if they play silly buggers, which I'm still dreading Inter would do with Bastoni) and Paratici spinning various plates so that we'd be negotiating with more than the one club like when we were discussing terms with Tomiyasu last summer only to sign Emerson

That was our choice though, wasn't it?
It's not like he picked Arsenal because we were ****ing about.
