Because Carlos was 2nd on the hit list in Jan behind Botman, Botman being available again has obviously turned their head towards him again. It was Lille not Botman forcing the Milan deal through even though the deal was less money. Go have a read about the Police investigations.

They can do deals but the player can't be registered till the window opens. So they wouldn't be able to train or play with new club till the window opened. As for Villa the £175k a week Kamara is pocketing and the £200k a week Carlos is pocketing must pale into insignificance in comparison to working with Man City Legend Stevie G
So there is basically no point in a transfer window. By that logic someone has already done a deal with Botman and all the other good players and all signings will go through as soon as the window opens. It can't be that simple, otherwise there is literally no point in a transfer window.
