Trick is to be kinda rude back, they seem to like you then. On my first trip to France I was in a supermarket and the woman was throwing the stuff down from the till to the point that a bottle of wine smashed. She exclaimed that I would still have to pay my reply was roughly this "you can **** off, I'll pay alright but will be getting another bottle off the shelf". I then finished packing walked back through the till picked up the most expensive wine I could find instead of a replacement, waved it at her and walked off.
I've also threatened to beat up an American tramp that was giving me lip, told multiple train people to go **** themselves and generally had a great time there.
Germans on the other hand, cant do enough for you when you are in Germany! If you meet them abroad in other countries, they can be a-holes, but in their motherland, they love an Englishman. Italians are similar. The Spanish will like you to varying degrees depending on how much money you spend, being the Gypos that they are. The Dutch are lovely, and so are the Greeks though you may need to win them around, Greek folk can be wary of a tourist, but you can win them over with some charm.
Germans just think everything they do is the best in the world, best beer best food, don't have the heart to tell them it's all bang average.
Town for me. Carlos Coberan was U23's coach at Leeds and a Bielsa disciple before taking over at Huddersfield for the last 2 seasons. Seems to be doing a cracking job so wish him well
