No matter what happens now I'll always be eternally grateful for him getting us out of league one.
He's up there with Peter Reid in my book.
And nice to see Reid'y and Quinn there today.
That was the best performance I've seen from us in ten years or more .
We earned that.

Players were immense and I'm proud as fook today.

we were seriously rocking when he came in, let's not forget that...LJ set the foundations but they had become a bit unstable and after the publicity regarding RK which (i firmly still believe) slowed the club down in appointing AN the lad had quite the job on his hands to even keep us top 6, the very fact there was even a slight chance of hitting an automatic spot speaks volumes, i said at the time i was happier with AN than i would have been if we had gone for RK.

LJ is a good manager but needs to learn how to get a team to defend, AN got us defending better but worried less about the attacking side as we have players right across the front who are capable of getting a goal or two, some carefully chosen additions in the window and i feel we could cause many a problem in the championship.

Thing for me is Wright, was hopeless under Johnson in all honesty, been superb under Neil, can't be a coincidence.

confidence, LJ would mess with a winning side and it would go tits up, AN does the same and it works...players knowing if they lose their place even after a couple of good games it is not a 'put down' but a tactical change and they can see it working keep their confidence, when dropped and the team lose they wonder how bad they must be to have another player come in who does not appear to help the team, also with bailey he was not given a regular spot but AN put his faith in him as he did with evans and we have all seen how they (and others) improved.

Just think that Wright responds more to Neil. Don't think he was a fan of LJ and vice versa

I was one of the latter mate. Took to him straight after the Wimbledon away game, knew exactly what was happening and what was required.

How long until the chairman sacks him though? I think LJ would have got you up automatically, but your chairman bottled it. With that lack of stability for a manager, you won't progress much. Well done on promotion though, nobody wants Wycombe and their 12 fans in the Championship. Looking forward to seeing you down the gate next season. Well done!

I thought LJ would of got us up too mate but Alex Neil is a godsend and did get us up.

The difference is night and day to me and Alex is a great fit for me.


I'll look forward to championship football next season and hopefully we have a good manager in him already.

I liked Lee Johnson, I thought he wanted to do his best for the club and the fans, and that meant playing a particular way. That was also probably a big part of his downfall. I think he would definitely have got us promoted given a bit more time and maybe even this season, following the arrival of Batth and the return from injury of a few others.
Alex Neil is probably, personality-wise, a more suitable manager for us. He's a bit more pragmatic than Johnson but likes to play good football when its appropriate. Both contributed to our promotion this season but time moves on and we're definitely in a better position all round than we were this time last year.

The big problem for any promotion winning manager is that the fans expectations are raised and want that promotion winning form in the next league.

However, the teams in that league are that much better than the teams they had left behind in that lower league.

Alex Neil now has to be ruthless in appraising the squad, pruning where necessary then, with backing from KLD and the leadership group, strengthening the squad.
