I was trying to be polite (for a change!).You accidentally put that in blue.
It's the day before Matchday.
Everything may point to a heavy defeat but that's why I think Saints may surprise people and get a result. As most know i'm one of the more optimistic posters and always hope for a good Saints performance and result but for the first time in ages i'm really not looking forward to this game. Everything points to a heavy defeat given our form against the juggernaut that is Liverpool FC.
They have everything to play for with the added motivation of needing to boost their goal difference, we have been defending abysmally and have very little to play for except professional pride.
Of course i'm hoping that i'm wildly wrong and we get a respectable result but I just can't see it.

Possibly minus Fraser as he's a big doubt.I wonder if Ralph will set up the same as we did against Arsenal with the same personnel.
Prepare for the worst, hope for the best. Good post. I think it will be a lot closer than other Saints fans on here believe. Despite the odd hammering we tend to play better against the top sides. Hopefully VVD's replacement will be kind enough to commit a foul 25 yards out. Here's what is going to happen.
Liverpool will play a weakened team because the first XI are injured or tired. We do have a very strong second XI though so you won't have it too easy. Missing VVD is a biggie though. We're not the same without him. Salah we can skip, but not VVD.
That said, we've been very bad in our first half performances recently... So don't be surprised if you go ahead of us in the first half. Usually we're bad in the first half then Klopp gives the players a magic half time hug and they play better in the second half.
So you'd best take your chances in the first 45 mins whilst we're playing crap if you want a result.
I definitely think we're favourites over Southampton, but nothing like you lot are predicting. It will be a lot closer than that. Don't underestimate how bad we've been in a lot of recent games... Honestly, we've ridden our luck on many occasions this season... I don't know how much longer the luck will last.... Even if we somehow pulled off the quad, I would say this is a worse performing team than won the league, or the one that finished second in the fairly recent past.
I'm predicting Soton 1: LFC 2 but wouldn't be surprised if you took points from us.
With regard to Chelsea- yes I can see that the club’s fans will suffer for something they have no real world input with. However, I’m mightily fed up with clubs paying ridiculous amounts in transfer fees and wages in order to buy success. The division its created has taken a great deal of enjoyment away for me,I wanted Chelsea to win yesterday because, whatever you think of their ex owner, it’s a ****ing joke what’s been done to that club because of the actions of a corrupt government with no respect for the rule of law (ours, not Russia’s).
I would rather Liverpool won the league than City because I don’t think I’ve ever met a scouser I didn’t like, but I don’t begrudge City their success, their fans shivered in the shadow of their rivals for years.
Newcastle have sold their soul to the devil and I feel sorry for their genuine supporters, that their club will now be universally hated (and rightly so).
I would like to see a title race between Arsenal and Spurs at some point, because I live in North London, and this place would be buzzing if that happened.
But mostly I would just like to see Saints win a game of ****ing football because I have forgotten how that feels.

I'm sure City would let Haaland make a small detour to Southampton on his way to Manchester.Maybe City could lend us a few players. 10ish should do it.

Couldn't we have several 25 yard fouls? Oh and a couple of pens please.Good post. I think it will be a lot closer than other Saints fans on here believe.
