What was up with him today? The defense didn't exactly give him any help, but he should have done better on at least two of those goals in my opinion. Possibly the last one as well. Also, Bosingwa should not have played this game, Ivanovic should have been on the right. He was exposed far too many times.
Agree totally mate he should of saved the second and third goals, I've seriously had enough of Bosingwa aswell, wanted him out but first few games he looked different class but his showing his true colours. Im worried because it's looking like last season all over again at the moment ( when we had the big blip between oct-december )
I never really blame the keeper but yes he maybe should've done better for Walcott's goal and Van Persie's third. Rest of them were down to defending.
That was sadly my thought at the end of the game. I'm usually quite lenient on keepers, and I agree the defending was horrid. He still seemed out of sorts at times today.
I cant remember when we've had reason to single out Petr for criticism and blame defeat on him before! I'm sure he knows and feels it! Lets hope he's now got it out of his system! He's a real True Blue so he must be feeling worse than me at the moment--if that's possible!
Just watched the goals again, could've saved all 4 after their first to be honest. Defence really didn't help, we need to change how we defend or who is in defence. For Santos' goal, Bosingwa came to get the ball and was basically a RCB, why he did when being attacked I'll never know, if Ivanovic had been at RB it may have been a different story. Walcott shot at the near post - if you are a striker you KNOW NEVER to shoot near post so Cech was probably expecting a cross goal shot like any normal striker would do, he could've done better for both of those goals though
I dunno about the other goals but you can't blame him for RVPs last one, the amount that swerved away from him would of put any keeper on their ass the wrong way!
He perhaps maybe could have saved 2 or 3 but there wasn't one where i'd call it a mistake not to have. Walcott's was possibly the softest as it was near post but still hit well and hard. Likewise RVP third but that had some serious swerve on it also. He wont hit another like that all year!
