liking him isn’t the issue. If he came and played Bobby’s role , would he score more goals than Bobby, the answer is a resounding yes. Our problem isn’t so much upfront, it’s Midfield.
Joe Gomez to Aston Villa? This link just won't go away as Aston Villa boss Steven Gerrard wants Joe Gomez to swap Anfield for Villa Park in the summer. Gomez has found game time hard to come by as he finds himself behind Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip and Ibrahima Konate in the pecking order. Gomez, 24, is incredibly talented and is one of England's best defenders, but he needs to play games if he is going to be included in the World Cup squad at the end of the year. The Mirror have suggested Aston Villa are ready to make a move for the centre-half in the summer as Jurgen Klopp is keen to tie him down to a new deal.
Would be really disappointed if Gomez left especislly as Matip prob need replacing in a couple years and vvd a bit after but don’t honk Joe can sit around and wait though
Don’t think he’s regressed just hasn’t got a run of games for 2 years. Prob the best 4th choice right back out there but unfortunately too good to sit around and not play. Think he could do better than villa. Can see him fitting in perfectly at Chelsea. As part of a back 3 in the rcb position would be ideal and chelsea need a few new defenders
He would be in first eleven of many teams, he is unlucky with injuries. The way things are going he will still be warming the bench next season.
Do clubs still do buyback clauses? Haven't heard of one in a while but Gomez might be a prime candidate for one.
