    2012/13 season under Villas-Boas.
Finished a point behind Arsenal and got 0 penalties, despite having Bale and Lennon in the first XI.
There were 3 awarded against us, though. Newcastle, Liverpool and the Spam.
The Woolwich got 5, which was probably about right. Swansea also got 0. West Brom got 7.

Weird, yes...but it is very real. They hate each other. Palace don't seem to have any rivalry with the other clubs in South London at all.

It started in the old third division back on the mid 70's. I went to the Palace home games between the two for a couple of years with my cousin and his mates and it was pretty full on.

About 15 years ago, I was shopping at a Tesco, about 15 mins walk from the ground, with my kids, when it went off outside, some fights spilling into the store. One bloke was chucking shopping baskets at Brighton fans. Very funny unless you got hit by one.j

I think it's because they're in the middle of nowhere.
There's nobody near them that they play against with any regularity.

It would be like us having a rivalry with Norwich, though.
Technically we're the closest club to them in the top-flight. We're their derby! <laugh>

I label those as < standard > , and nowhere near the
"snatch defeat from the jaws of victory" that "spursy" is
    most often used to denote.

The pundits seem confused to explain the disaster that is ManU this year. Though they spend a lot of time trying, often mentioning that they were runners up last year. Oh, so much time it's really getting boring. Yet they fail to suggest the most obvious thing. ManU this year is the same as last year, but with far fewer penalties. There, that didn't take very long did it?

Leeds United manager Jesse Marsch wants his struggling side to take inspiration from the likes of Mahatma Gandhi, Mother Teresa and Muhammad Ali in their attempt to avoid relegation from the Premier League. - The Athletic.

The only thing that I can think of that they have in common is that they're dead.
    Bit excessive.

Yes.Bringing Harry back again and again did us no good. Although his stand in didn't score much,he kept the line together. Harry didn't.

The Times are claiming that Haaland to City is going to be announced today.
Dortmund will reveal it first, followed by his new club.

Some shrewd financial wheeler-dealing there by Citeh
under the radar of the other big clubs (who I am
surprised never put in bids for Haaland) . <applause>

I understand Haaland is an out and out striker. Fraudiola doesn't normally use them, so will be interesting to see how he changes the system to accommodate.

Haaland started at Dortmund as a winger who cut inside while Reus or Hazard played through the centre before moving into the middle, which fits in with how The Sheikh Mansour Team have used wingers or AMs through the middle this season

Or he could just stick him in the middle, get DeB to fire in crosses and everyone in the media will ejaculate over what a brilliant coach he is.

Dortmund have instantly replaced him and taken a potshot while they're at it:

You have to get into the opposition penalty area to get penalties

Not necessarily, you merely have to launch in a cross and you have a 50/50 chance that the ref doesn't know what a handball looks like
