On Friday night/Saturday morning I was very vocal in my criticism for him but last night he made me eat my words. I accused him of lacking bottle and being afraid of a tackle. Well last night he took a few big hits but got up dusted himself off and went again. Last night he showed bravery, took responsibility and used the talent he obviously has to help drag us through to wembley. I won't say he single handedly got us there as that would be unfair on the other 10 players but he certainly played his part stretching Sheff Wed and going again and again to try and create something. I won't apologise for my comments after the first leg as I speak from the heart and say it as I see it but he did prove last night he was up for the fight. Play like that again at Wembley and you will be forever remembered up here. Where I give criticism I feel its only fair to give praise and last night I gladly ate a large slice of humble pie. Take a bow lad.
I actually paraphrased your post last night in the match thread after it was all over. I said I read on here it said he was scared to get stuck and could tell he was on loan. Which it has been hard to disagree with not just last week but a lot of his time here for me. Last night however, he was like a different player he got stuck in all every chance he got, as you say got fouled quite a bit but seemed happy to get kicked as it meant he was getting us up the field and the way he kept picking up the ball and beating 3 or 4 players to get us up field was class. Up until now I haven't been too impressed, after last night I hope we go for another season long loan. As he showed what he can do and I imagine AN will not let him forget it!
Him and Roberts have both been great lately and are going from strength to strength. I've been impressed with their attitude. Roberts is pretty strong for his size too he's got that Messi low centre of gravity thing going. Flair players with good attitudes eh, well done to SAFC for finding them and Neil for getting them firing.
apart from a brief spell in the 2nd half when cirkin moved forward more, clarke certainly did not look up to the task in the first leg. different bloke in the 2nd leg mind..i keep thinking he is still a leeds player as well so what do i know? don't think i have seen a single person say the lad has no talent mind, just at times he does not seem to be fully 'mind on the job'.
On a side note...wondering what Dan Neil and Embleton are thinking because they hardly get a start these days. Especially Neil as he's being tracked by prem league clubs apparently.
Hope to see them, and Jack Diamond in the Championship next year, all three should be more than comfortable at that level imo.
I believe these two lads are the lads that AN has talked about a few times about having a great attitude in regards to being dropped for the good of the team and what we need at this moment in time.
