This instead of Targett? We've just offered Dummett a new contract so doubt we're going to buy two left backs.
That was my thought but if you take 2 for each position you'd have 22 players and can register 25 so 3 "utility players" so I guess Dummy would be CB/LB covers cover and general good lad to have around the dressing room.
So either Lewis is being shipped out or Targett won't be signing. That or the newspapers are all agent bs and Lewis and Targett are the two LB's and Dummy cover?
You don't have to prefer... You need two in every position that are good enough
33 years old and will want a boat load of cash, technically average and more likely to commit a foul that'll break a leg than win a tackle, exactly the type of player we should not be after.
Targett has been good but Lodi, potentially, could be another level. Bit of a risk given his lack of familiarity but he would be an amazing signing, in my opinion
Some Nufc fans still haven't got used to the concept of not having to decide between one or the other.
There's fans out there that just cannot understand you need good players not in the 11... The max situation for example.. People saying get rid.. No.. You buy someone you think is better and they compete for a place.... Players get injured and come in and out of form...
I just see a good player in comparison to what we've got in cm.. He's much better that all but one in that position.

My point still stands. We're not going to buy both, there's first choice and then there's back up.

I get what you're saying but it's not as simple as "two in every position - So why not buy both?".
I've not seen Lodi, but if he's in the same class as Trippier, then he's some player. On the other hand Targett, though he's defender 1st and attacker a distant 2nd, he's fitted in well and he's been injury-free.
Why not? It's an area we're weak in.... I understand you have a preference, but I just want everyone.

That doesn't mean we need to spend 35-40m on leftbacks alone. Neither of these two will be happy being 2nd choice.
We have other players than can cover LB also such as Trippier and Manquillo, heck even burn can play LB.
