In the quarter final against us they missed a penalty (given by VAR), watched Kane go off injured and complained the ball went out of play when we scored even though he clearly didn't. In the second leg there was no kane, Wayama wasn't fully fit, they wanted our third goal ruled out for hand ball even though VAR checked for around 2 minutes it couldn't show the ball hit his hand, they conceded 3 goals against us and had a goal rightly ruled out for offside. They blamed VAR for them going out ... cos it made the correct decisions There was a great clip at the time of older city fans leaving after they "scored" their 4th goal. They camera crew asked them about how they felt going out to us and they told the camera crew they won cos they saw Stirling score...their faces when the interviewer told them it was ruled out for offside
It's the Champions League mate you want to best the best. Not having this wanting an easy game attitude.
You'll Find most of us chuffed we got Madrid bro. Proper European final Plus you know what its like playing another English team in one. Nerves galore
I know this is a conversation from last night but this nails it, and is what i've always said. The year before Pep took over at Bayern, they won the treble. Since he left, they have also won the champions league. While he was there, all they did was do exactly what they did every year before he arrived and every year since he left, which is win the league in a vaguely two horse race. Man's a massive myth, Klopp is way superior as a manager and squad builder. His teams play lovely football once he's thrown enough money at the squad to find the right players, but his ability is massively exaggerated. He ****s things up too often. Just hope to God he doesn't now **** the league up as well.
Definitely want City to win the league now if just for this poor Mumsnet poster's sake: Did enjoy this response though:
I genuinely find his brand of football tedious.. Death by a million passes then a tap in. Its really not for me. Pep obviously has skills it can't be denied he can get a team playing his way but as you say he's never actually had to do that on a budget... No one expects him to take the Brentford job like but until he goes to a team that isn't the richest in that league already or already winning loads then he will always have that slight on his cv. Its a myth he improves every player he touches too... I'd argue he stifles the flair of some of his players, he prefers surgical rather than creative football imho. Grealish hell turn into a robot & sterling still misses sitters every game like when at Liverpool too. Yeh thats my 2p
