I honestly can't see us buying a forward. We have elliot and apparently that fabio carvalho from Fulham coming in. not forgetting kaide Gordon waiting in the shadows. If we sign up mo and Mane I can't see it. For once I'm extremely relaxed about this window
Origi is gone. Minamino will be moved on. Elliott was playing midfield early this season and Carvalho is an attacking midfielder also. If we do not renew one of Bobby, Salah or Mane, I absolutely expect another forward signing. I would also buy a CM. Back up to TAA may be sorted with what we have….but who knows. Otherwise we’re good.
Well, that's one way of testing a player's mentality... join Liverpool, one of the best sides in the world so offer a great opportunity to win things and fulfil a players ambition versus Joining Man Utd who will be able/willing to pay higher much higher wages ...we won't be held to ransom, see Werner for more details.
I'd be very surprised if we don't lost one of Mane, Mo, or Firm. Even if we did, wouldn't necessarily need another forward (although it would be nice). I do think Right Back is the one problem spot we have to address. TAA is good but needs competition and a rest occasionally.
I don’t think Elliott will be at the club that long to be honest with Carvalho coming in. In his last 2 appearances I’ve seen , including the Carabao cup final, he contributed next to nothing Firmino as a forward needs to be replaced and We need another top class goal scorer
Trent has become arrogant. He's caught half the time behind the cbs playing teams on or trenchant be arsed track back and just wants to run off into the middle It's a pity williams cant run in a straight line and has no vision. If we had a right footed tsimikas. Trent would need to sharpen his ideas. Watching him laugh at henderson hit a free kick no worse than trent normally hits them said it all for me. Gomez.v Newcastle showed how to play the offside at least. He even tried an over lap lol
Don’t see us buying a forward. LW - Diaz Mane Jota CF - Mane Jota Firmino, Minamino RW - Salah Mane Minamino plenty options and given Diaz was going to be the summer buy up top, don’t see us having another £120m to spend on a CM and RW. Only exception would be if Salah or Mane were sold which I can’t see happening. Especially since Mane has gone more central and looked decent. CM options atm are DM - Fab Hendo LM - thiago Keita Jones RM - Hendo Elliott Keita On assumption Ox goes, and Milner (although if he stays will only be a bit part) we are light on a first team player to cover DM with Hendo not being the same type of player. Think that’s where the big money if there is any will be spent. Someone that can do that job in. Konate type profile. First team experience but young enough to come in and slowly embed themselves over the season. RB - being heavily linked with Ramsay from Aberdeen for 3m which seems a no brainer really. Young cheap player who can come in as back up.
Given how often Tsimikas uses his right foot to control the ball and dribble I’m surprised he hasn’t been tried there. I know it’s different from being naturally right footed. Cancelo does it for city at LB. Especislly since TAA is now coming inside more, would actually help Tsimikas as we wouldn’t lose any width that TAA would provide as that comes from Salah and Hendo, compared to Robbo on other side who stick to the line. Now Tsimikas obviously not as good a playmaker but from what I’ve seen I don’t think he’d be totally lost playing there.
All.makes sense to me. The only proviso is that we can't let players age and if the right guy is there now you have to take advantage. If nunez is actually even a target then the time is now or never. Same as going and getting Diaz who was always the target or let spurs have him. Its hard to know what thebplan is but I'd agree a cm is certainly #onthelist But adding another rb option and profiting on williams makes some sense too. Bradley and ramsay would fight for chances I suppose.
Yeah, it's one that klopp doesn't seem to want to try. He took months to relent and play Phillips and williams last year as well. If milner could play lb for him no issue why could tsimikas not play rb. Trent needs a massive kick up the backside
I just see that as squad bantz, half the bench laughed with trent watching the video. He deffo needs some genuine competition but I don't think he's become arrogant, in fact he comes across as very feet on the ground everytime I hear him speak.
I simply cannot understand this sudden interest in Nunez. Thought he was half decent against us but certainly not worthy of transfer speculation. He goes into the 'promising young forward in world football' category, nothing more than that. And there are many of them.
His perceived lack of defending skills has apparently come on leaps and bounds this year. If you believe he can't defend anyway
Thoight the way he played against us was very lfc style though. Very busy, willing runner, closing down and could put the ball in the net. Is he flexible enough to be able to play wide as well? Maybe not but then Bobby can’t either so having someone only central isn’t a bad thing. But for money being put out there for him, can’t see us going even that money could go towards a CM where we need reinforcements. Also I’d be looking at a Lw long term rather than CF. Jota is better CF and you’d think when Bobby Salah mane move on we have diaz Lw Jota CF and no cover on the right. So future planning would def put a left footed winger as priority over a CF. Now if you can find a mane/Jota type that can play RWCF and maybe cover left then perfect. Other than Bobby, we have seemed to target those players that can play across whole front line as means can have 5 for 3 positions and everyone get plenty time rather than needed 6 for 3 positions to have cover.
