Yeah, that happened to my sister in '78 with her now-deceased ex. We thought the cops were telling us a bad-taste joke when they explained the then law. He did her in front of the crying kids too. Scum.

Holy crap, what a total bastard. That's horrible. Hope hasn't permanently scarred her or the kids

I think they changed the rules on consensual witnesses for domestic violence and hate crimes about a decade ago. Could be wrong, but I'm sure I read that if the evidence is there (the tape, in this case), they don't need the victim to verify it, or even to attempt to refute it. They could say it was an agreed sex game or something, but considering she posted it on social media saying the exact opposite.... well, he'd better hope that United's lawyers select the jury, I suppose. :emoticon-0112-wonde

I didn't think it was her posted it on social media though?

Didn't a friend/friends of hers get hold of the info and set up an Instagram account?

Hmm, I did not know that. Maybe there is a 'slimmer of hope' then, as Steve McManaman may put it. :emoticon-0143-smirk

Imagine what he would have been/could have been if he had just a little dedication!

He could have been a record breaker. <whistle>

Seriously though, British boozing culture probably ruined him from becoming the Messi of his generation.

If Van Gogh played football he'd probably be Gazza...

He was a fabulous footballer, arguably the most naturally gifted English player of the last 50 years ... but as a man he was (and possibly still is) a complete and utter embarrassment and a prize twat ..

flawed genius. Just a poor lad who came from a rough background. Imagine if he came through like Rooney when welfare for players was much better. Would have been a superstar.

Obviously you and city fans are too thick to get why its bad for football if a state backed sports washing front wins the lot as opposed to a footballing institution doing things "the right way".
