Plus you had our wingers this time playing on their natural foot side if that makes sense, not as inverted wingers so they don't have to cut back all the time to put a ball in, so they can whip them in straight away, like a couple of the goals yesterday. Much prefer it like that tbh.

I rate Gooch Clocky, but among our group I am the only one, it doesn’t make me a moron nor are the others I sit with, they just don’t know as much as me about football (only joking :emoticon-0105-wink::emoticon-0102-bigsm) .

I appreciate the work he is asked to do playing out of his natural position. Personally I reckon he is a better wingback than a winger because he has grass ahead of him to run into rather than the blind alleys he runs up when he is faced with a tight back line playing higher up the field.

As fans we are a bunch of butchers, bakers and candlestick makers and will never have the same perspective as the professionals who work with players and the data, day in and day out. As paying fans we have a right to express our views but we have to realise there are 30 odd thousand different views at every match and the only one that really matters is the managers, who lives and dies by his team selection.

I had to laugh at the Good Friday game, when I heard I heard a young lad behind us, say quite innocently to his dad, “Why aren’t you the manager dad, you know more about football than anyone” :emoticon-0102-bigsm He probably does, but it sums up my feelings about the multitude of views on display at a game.

No not all his fault a fair share of the blame was Johnson over playing the young lads imo.

Over the moon about Evans, O/9 and especially Embleton having good games yesterday, I also enjoyed seeing Diamond score twice on Quest. What I have read on here about O/9 at Wycombe is also food for thought, you mentioned Alex Neil talking to the supporters in his interviews a while back, and I picked up on this and his post match yesterday was a classic, he does not talk for the sake of it, and all the better for that, but opinions are what forums and friendships are built on, long may they continue. OaU.

Cracking result, the grandbairns 1st home game couldn’t have gone any better. Thought Gooch & Robert’s were brilliant, they couldn’t cope with them.
Grandbairn spent the 1st 15 mins asking me where Harry Kane was, poor bairn was gutted when I finally got it through to him that he doesn’t play for us he plays for Spurs & England !!! Little sod fell asleep afterwards which meant I had to carry him all the way back to the car.

I think that is reflected in the attitude/atmosphere of the crowd.

With Shrewsbury, and again yesterday, the fans took a few knocks but encouraged the team and minimised the groans. I think that's because they know the manager sees what they're seeing, feels what they're feeling, and that his players are doing their best.

I thought the fans encouraged the team even when the game was obviously won ...

... what did you think mate @MrRAWhite

Just an aside.... nowt to do with us but I thought it was a harsh sending off for their lad and wouldn't be surprised if they appealed, and won it. For me there was doubt whether Ross had it under control at any stage. Thought it at the time and seeing replays confirm it. Clear pen tho.

I'm not entirely sure but I don't think the attacker has to be in control of the ball, or even have the ball to be fouled.

And, if it's a penalty given away by the last defender, it puts the referee in a difficult position.

Whatever the case we've been robbed and cheated all season so I don't care too much tbh. Stewart, in my opinion, genuinely wanted to get to the ball and score. The defender may not have deliberately hacked him down but he must know that jumping into a challenge, in the area, needs to be more controlled.

Anyway, I'd take another on Tuesday and celebrate just as my h <cheers>

Just watching the highlights and, in particular, their goal as I've seen a few, elsewhere mainly, laying the blame at Gooch's door.

There are quite a few at fault and least if all Gooch imo.

First, Embleton and Doyle allowed themselves to be too easily bypassed on our left. Embleton then allows the scorer, Digby, to run past him, into the box, then completely loses him

Gooch, while all this is happening, tracks their 26 all the way into the area and gets in front to try to prevent the cross. But the ball is cut back and he can't get enough on it to clear.

It's typical that some will blame Gooch, playing on the right, for a goal that came entirely from the left.

I havent seen the game yet but delighted for Gooch. I think he is a much maligned player, yet I also think every other League 1 side would pick him week in week out. We know how much he loves us and you can see on the pitch, sometimes his heart is too visible on his sleeve.

I think sometimes we are excited by the glamour of loan signings. Clarke and Roberts for example. Do they really bring more to the team than Gooch? Will they bust that lung to get us promoted this year? In many ways we are blessed to have so many of our own academy lads playing - Patterson, Gooch, Embleton, Neil. That is a really good slice of our team who you know will feel like we do about getting promoted. Give me them from now on and I will be happy enough.

Just watched the full 90, great performances all over the park but Elliott Embleton was outstanding. He showed for every ball and playing that bit deeper he controlled the game, his vision and passing were excellent. Him and Evans with O'Nien just ahead look a very good midfield

Stewart should've had a few more penalties this season for that sort of thing aswell so gladly take a pen and a sending off.

I've said for two seasons that he doesn't know how to be fouled.

He'll take a challenge, that other players would win a penalty/free kick from, and have the decision go against him <doh>

Wycombe would've had a dozen penalties during that time.

    Very enjoyable, thank you RTB.

Cracking result and performance with so many players standing out. Lots of credit to Alex Neil for blending the team and getting us well-drilled. I also like the way he has helped the players to simplify things and perform near the top of their capabilities.

Just in their red card, pretty much the same incident just happened in the Chelsea v West Ham match. Ref gave a pen and a yellow to Dawson. VAR reviewed it and the ref sent him off

He's got us on a roll and hopefully hitting top form just at the right time.
