I'm slightly surprised that no-one has mentioned it yet, but say we get promoted this season and say we finish a safe mid-table in the Premiership next season and say that we add some decent Premiership/European talent in both the Summer 2012 and January 2013 transfer windows, could it not be conceivable that Theo is tempted back home?

It is after all over 18 months away yet. If he's still not an Arsenal regular, week-in week-out, by then, surely he would be tempted to look elsewhere. (And from our perspective, how great would it be to get one back over Arsenal and Wenger by nicking one of our boys back on a free!)

Been on the sauce, brendy. A lot of ifs in there..I'll settle for the Premier League bit.

I just thought someone would have brought it up by now.

I don't know about other people, but my ultimate aim for this club isn't Champions League football or winning cups ewtc (although obviously I'd take that!!). It's getting back to being a top 8 team, and having one of Walcott, Bale or Chamberlain back at the club. Nothing more than a distance dream right now of course, but if those two things were to happen then I would happily say that my dreams are fullfilled. Anything more would just be a bonus.

I did alude to this in an earlier post on this thread. I should say that I think that any of them are unlikely to return, but I think it's just possible that Walcott or Chamberlain might want to at some point. I also think that they, particularly Walcott, would shine if they came back to us much more than they will with Arsenal. If we are able to build a successful, young, hungry, premiership team out of the core of players we currently have, they might feel that they regret having left and would like to be a part of it again. It's a big if, but it is possible.

Three consecutive sentences started with "And", a nine year old would lose marks in his homework for that.

Not to worry, no less an author than Dickens would often start sentences with And. As they say, if it was good enough for him..?

Don't stray too far from the rules, but don't be afraid to play around with the English language.

We are completely deluded if we think any of them may come back to saints - even in the distant future.

Even if they wanted to, I doubt we could afford wages - even with the ambitions of our club it will still take many years to get to where we want - playing in Europe with a bigger stadium - unlikely to happen whilst TW is in his prime - AOC maybe - but then the question - like Beattie - would we want them when they are going downhill?

How many players actually go back to their original clubs, and out of those that do - how many are a success?

Fabregas and Pique both came through the Barcelona youth system, then left , and have subsequently returned again. Ok, it is Barcelona, but still.
