Go on about it mate, sometimes it does the soul good to vent. Glad things have been sorted for your family.
I didn't realise that the biometrics were scrapped so yes the delays do not make sense. They are fleeing a horrendous war through no fault of their own and when I see the atrocities the Russians have committed, no woman, man or child was safe where they were.
I heard a radio report that the delay is due to none eligible people pretending to be Ukrainians, so they had to recruit Ukrainians to spot the imposters
I suppose that is a possibility but I know there were plenty of obstacles with family members who had actually travelled over to get them. As is always the case sadly, there are some that will actually do all they can to spoil the goodwill of people.
From what I've heard from my family and her friends is that the Uk are pushing the Homes for Ukraine in front of the Family Scheme because there is more applications and has a lot more red tape which is making a backlog. They are making that the priority. My Wife's mother is finally with us. I would like to thank all the people in Edinburgh and British rail who have helped her along the way with their generosity and giving that extra yard. So many people dying from both countries so many families losing loved ones through one person Mr Putin. While the man himself sits in his chair playing war games like it's a computer game on his laptops guarded by a army full of soldiers along with people tasting his food before he eats it in case it's poisoned. I can't defend or have any sympathy for any Soldier from Russia who sets foot in Ukraine even if some have been rightly or wrongly advised on their job mission. Ukrainian people are protecting their country and have every right to defend themselves for the sake of their homeland. while the Russians have no excuse for being killed or injured. simply get out of Ukraine and we won't follow and kill you. just cross that border is all you have to do. What they did in Bucha is so sad. many civilians dead. only two month ago just going on with their normal life's just going to work, kids playing football in the parks. taking their pets for walks. Normal people like me and you, who have nothing to do with all this political madness dying for nothing. I hope they get this Bastrd Putin and give him a slow death even that's too good for him.
Whatever you do, don't criticise the press. They don't like it. I did, yesterday, and today the post has disappeared. Funny that.
It's been awful watching everything that has happened there and it is beyond comprehension. There are no words to describe the atrocities.
War is brutal We've closed our collective eyes to Russian activity in Syria and Chechnya, but now Russia is fighting a war in Europe and we pay attention.
We are lead to believe only what we are being told/shown. I was looking carefully at pictures of damage in Kiev streets and noticed that the damage shown was the same from three or four different angles, making it look like the whole street had been bombed. Our press did the same when we had an earthquake a few months ago. One wall, yes, ONE WALL , fell down but according the the TV footage it was half the town! A number of shots all from differing angles, but the same pile of bricks. Pictures don't lie? Who says so? Now before I cop all the flack, I don't agree with what's going on in Ukraine and I don't doubt there is some serious sh*t going down, but, please, let's look beyond the 'news' reports.
I keep looking for news headlines which says we are no longer asking farmers to set land aside to return to nature. We should be encouraging them to plant wheat sunflower rape seed etc
Not sure what this has to do with Ukraine 2p but ... It was my understanding that the EU abolished set aside some time ago https://www.gov.uk/hmrc-internal-manuals/inheritance-tax-manual/ihtm24064
Check out how much grain and sunflower oil comes from Ukraine and Russia I have a holiday home in the country and if I look out of the window at least 70% of what I see is just green fields Whilst I like green fields I often wonder if more land should be used for growing crops to help towards self sufficiency
Cheese comes from milk, milk comes from the female of the species usually we think of cows don’t see many of them these days
