Those who have mentioned Mississippi Burning, you might like A Time To Kill. Some more of my favourites, some already mentioned..... Goodfellas Forest Gump JFK A Few Good Men Black Hawk Down The Thing Probably quite a few more.....
Missed out comedy Mousehunt , Oh Brother were Art Thou Westerns 3.10 to Yuma (both versions) True Grit (both versions) Once upon a time in the West Last of the Mohicans.( great sound track) and speaking of sound tracks, American Graffiti , The Girl Cant Help It, and Last picture Show and a really leftfield shot The Ballard of Buster Scruggs
Thats the one With George Kennedy, and lots of eggs, it is a good film with a very sad undercurrent .
Forest Gump - wow. A film for the ages in my opinion. I kind of struggle a bit with Tom Hanks, but my word he performed his Opus here. Sometimes actors make you forget they are acting. This is one. Heath Ledger as the joker then along comes Joaquim and makes me shed a tear or two.
I like most of his films, even older ones like Big and The Money Pit, and some that were pretty much slated like The Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons. The one I'm not too keen of though is Castaway....just couldnt get into it. Saving Private Ryan is another good one.
Not a great fan of Paul Newman but every now and again he makes me eat my words, hes not alone there mind, but that is a great film up there with the best. Grapes of Wrath with Paul Muni is another, bit before your time though.
