Any body who has studied the history of British intelligence over the past century will be well aware of the stunts they have pulled. Forgive me for my cynicism but I don't believe anything they feed us. I remember as a kid the case of Greville Wynne. He was an MI6 agent arrested by The Russians in about 1962. My dad swore blind that the was a British spy despite the protests that he was just a businessman. Several years later it was admitted that the was a spy, lying is their craft.
