Couple of controversial comments, Burnsy should have hosted over Palmer( tin hat on ) . Barmby said the words I’ve always dreamed of playing for Liverpool . I’m not knocking his career path or even blame him for saying it, just not sure he’s the City nut he’s made out to be personally . Burnys was at Lucy Beaumonts launching of her new tv show Hullraisers. Free bar apparently.
Don't know if you were there last night but Barmby spoke of Hull City and his time here as a youngster before he was picked to join the England youth set up very fondly. He recalled names of lads like Les Thompson who is hardly a household name, spoke well of Big Billy, Skip, Gareth Roberts, Andy Dawson and so on and his times as a mascot for City. I have a team photo of him in a City kit as mascot for the ex Tigers and he must have only of been about 8. His memories of Wembley v Bristol city and that Sheff Wednesday away game left no-one in any doubts of his credentials as a City fan.

Rob Palmer was fine whilst Nick Barmby was speaking. After that he was a pratt, when some prick charmed up and declared himself an FC fan and wanted to know, basically what Acun was going to do for Hull Fc Palmer weighed in with 'historically Hull has always been three quarters rugby league, your either red and white or black and white, with the other quarter football and most of them Leeds United' This in front of our new owner and a room full of Hull City members.
Acun was put on the spot with the next question, 'have you considered giving fans a discount who buy a joint pass pass for City and Fc' ?
I got the impression that Acun knew virtually nothing about the eggchasers before tonight and I hope he isn't swayed by the infiltrators in the room who wanted the meeting to be about them backed up by Palmers stupid fawning on their behalf.
Big exclusive was he ( and it was hardly an exclusive at all) is going to take 250 fans and 250 noisy ones to Turkey, could have lost something in translation there, but that was it basically. A four or five day freebie in Turkey to spread the Hull City name. Good intentions yes, but HTF is he or the club going to choose who goes and who doesn't without upsetting everyone ?
Interesting spot for me was what was Daren Hale doing sat on the Hull City table all night and why was he still wearing his gardening jumper when the rest of the table were in suits, collars and ties ?

Should have been pointed out Hull City’s average home attendance in the top division in the 5 seasons we spent there. Even this season with City struggling their average home attendance is still higher than both rugby clubs. Whilst I'm not sure that a combined Hull FC/Hull City pass is a great selling point - I do think there is something in both clubs working together in some way to increase attendances across the board in the stadium. It does feel odd getting a discount because you are a fan of both though.

It was really nice to hear from Acun last night, who seemed both ambitious and realistic at the same time. I liked the fact he asked questions and seemed to want to learn about the club and the area as the night went on.

I love his enthusiasm and his rawness when it comes to the club, he doesn't pretend to know it all but wants to. I think we as a fanbase definitely need to show some passion back.

Re your last point here, I actually thought he was effectively saying we need to enter in a contract here. I'm really going for this. I need more of you in the ground and I need you supporting the team with some passion. Not sure what he would have made of Rob Palmer trying to tell him the history of the club and how this was a rugby town in the 1980s. If I ever get to talk to him, I'd tell him when I first started watching in 1967 we were getting 30,000 in the old division 3. The fans and the passion are there, but it's going to take a bit to unlock that again.

Agreed, the reaction to a suggestion of discount on both season tickets has been predictably over the top

There’s definitely an idea in an ‘MKM Season Ticket’ one price to see all matches over the course of a calendar year. The woman didn’t pitch it well but it’s an interesting idea that isn’t worth immediately ruling out.

I wouldn’t buy it but you might get more people going to more games of both types as a consequence.

I do agree it wasn’t a priority to bring up last night.

I find that rather naive. I agree in principle, but there's no way I'm going to behind a group of people where so many of them take every opportunity to insult, abuse and belittle the local football team. I'd lay that much more squarely at the door of FC than KR fans, so it's not particularly an anti-RL thing, and lets be honest, they're more abusive toward each other than we are against RL, so the argument about backing the City and not being at each others throats falls down there too.

Add in the media fixation with peddling the 'rugby town' myth, and the problem gets worse, and actually holds the City as a whole back.

I think Palmer was doing a favour to his local media mates, as they've pretty much burned their bridges with City fans, and if RL declined even further, they'll slide down with it.

No City fan would turn up to a Hull FC night with their new owner and ask about football. It simply wouldn't happen. Many City fans may not like rugby and/or either of the two clubs, but none are scared of it in the way some rugby fans are of football. They get their kicks in when City are down because they know there's no comparison when we're up.
Is anyone else getting a little bit embarrassed about the constant clamouring for discounts on memberships and such? We must be one of, if not the cheapest in the division. We've got a bloke in charge who wants to make moves and do things finally. We need to buy into it (literally) and accept we need to actually put money in as well.

I've just watch through it, Nick Barmby came across very well, and clearly has City close to his heart.

Acun also came across very well, clearly a passionate person, and truly takes his ownership of the club as a personal responsibility. He wants to get the ground full and is hell-bent on achieving his goals. We seem to be very lucky to have such a passionate owner on board, and I am sure he will bring success to the club.

I was very disappointed with Rob Palmer, I expected a much more professional job, he came across as a bit of an oaf. Burnsy IMO would have done a much better job, but as said he was engaged elsewhere.

Also disappointed by the Rugby questions, this was a Hull City evening, and the people posing those questions should have respected that. I thought his comments about seeing how the pitch, which is to be relaid, stands up after January when the Rugby starts were telling. He is clearly worried that the pitch may well suffer. It will be interesting to see what happens if the pitch suffers because of the dual usage!

Pitch needs 2 things. Drainage and light. Both will cost money.

Was all a bit amateur last night tbh. Palmer looked like he'd slept in his suit and was a bit of a ****er with his explanation of rugby league in the city. Acun spoke passionately about the club and his plans but the audience was made up of 90% West stand flaskers who showed little enthusiasm and didn't create much of an atmosphere. Acun wants a new club song and suggested The Only way is Up by Yazz. Not for for me mate.

Good job me, Urika and Bri Lee were representing the East Stand side of the stadium
