Smacks (excuse the pun) to me a bit of Andy Kaufman and Jerry Lawler on the Letterman show 1982
Obscure, but excellent reference my friend. Have a likeSmacks (excuse the pun) to me a bit of Andy Kaufman and Jerry Lawler on the Letterman show 1982
I would have had more respect for him if he'd punched him, I expect I'll go to my grave having never slapped another man. Weird.
I don't believe it was staged in any way, it was too embarrassing for Smith. I guess he's sick of everyone taking the piss out of how his wife sleeps around (so does he presumably) and he lost his ****.

Man on the moon. class
Probably knows potentially the difference between a slap and a punch is jail time.
award shows, or to give them their proper name, 'hoop licking meetings' are the worst television of all time and unfortunately 'the brits' has to be worst of all.
wish i had competed for awards in all my jobs ffs, you do a job and you get paid for it, end of.
Will Smith made himself look a right dick there. He was laughing, then decided he'd get up and slap Chris Rock..
As for the joke, it's the job of the host to make edgy jokes that are borderline offensive - Ricky Gervais has made a career out of it
Don't get me started on Smith's staged tearful apology. Embarrassing
To be fair, as slaps go, it seemed like a beaut! If you're going to hit someone in defence of your wife's honour you don't give them a little slap you lay them out.
He'd probably have been in trouble if he'd torn his head clean off but anything less that and a celebrity of his wealth and status is in the clear.
