This is why I do what I do, selling vegan **** to hippies from the back of my camper van. I had a career, nice salary, pension, and all the perks and status that come with a senior management job. But when my daughter came along and I was only seeing her for an hour a day in the mornings and I was looking at my colleagues 15-20 years older than me starting to burn out, I thought 'You know what, **** it, this isn't any life I want to be doing until I'm 65'

I think lots of people buy into that mentality that they've got to work like a dog until they are nearly 70 (and let's be honest, that's what we're told we have to do) then they can retire, relax and enjoy themselves. Trouble is, a fair proportion of those people are too old or unwell by that stage to go galavanting off on a trip around the world and they realise they should have done it 20 years ago.

I earn a fraction of what I did when I had my career, but I get to pick my daughter up from school every day, go to her school plays and I've got time to go surfing, biking, camping etc and I'm pretty much free to decide when I want to work and when I want time for myself and my family. There's no way I'd go back to a full time 9-5 job again, not for any money. I guess it all depends on how you measure your wealth.

Makes sense, two clubs 30 minutes apart gotta travel 3 hours to London to play a match, plus the fans have no public transport, and Old Trafford is just sitting there near both of them.
I hated that they changed the semi finals to Wembley. I know they wanna milk as much money out of that stadium as they can, but it waters down the novelty of playing there, I preferred it when the semis were at a random neutral ground and only the final was at Wembley. Money grabbing ****s

It reads like a dewy eyed rallying cry to the hippie lifestyle, so probs for the best it’s ignored.

Thing is though, the stadium will fill, but it wont be true Liverpool fans or the 12 fans City have, it'll be a bunch of plastic fans from London or worse, Roy Keane's prawn sandwich brigade.

About 10 yrs ago, we were in France, a fella from London came up for some advice, over the days we got talking, he worked for Lloyd's in the city, bloke was stressed out, 4 kids in private school, even with a bursary that's a lot of wedge, anyway he tells me he's on a 6 figure salary for 50-60 hours a week. He had to borrow a tent to go on holiday, wtf life is that

City fans will have the added benefit of being able to walk to the game if it's at Old Trafford, given that every single one of them lives in Manchester city centre.

    Allegedly.

I have about a dozen "gold" medals from youth tournaments I attended across the NW as a kid/early teen... Judo helps, but it's not going to be very effective in street fighting. I wouldn't count on my judo to give me much of an advantage in a real fight.

In a fight to the death probably not, but if you are looking to restrain someone, ie if you are a copper or a bouncer, then a lot of the judo throws and locks are quite effective
