Not really true. Likely 1 team is worse than us, and 2 teams thankfully had a lot of points deducted!
Well technically Reading are still below us regardless of points deductions now but had they not cheated they wouldn’t have a team as good
Unless I'm missing something, two teams worse than us irrespective of any points deductions, Barnsley and Peterborough. I appreciate Barnsley outplayed us recently to win at ours, but we did the same to them at Oakwell. Same games played, 10 points behind us. I am only talking points on the board, putting aside our shortfalls and comparisons against other teams squads
OP -> I am only talking points on the board, putting aside our shortfalls and comparisons against other teams squads Reply -> Not really true. Likely 1 team is worse than us, and 2 teams thankfully had a lot of points deducted! Was working on basis of: Peterborough relegated. The team that is worse than us. Derby & Reading relegated. Down due to points deductions Barnsley escaping. In truth, I do expect them to still finish below us, but (especially after what happened 2 seasons ago), not counting any chickens just yet.
I hear what you’re saying but there are only six teams that have conceded less than us in the Championship, I think Greaves Macca and Jones have done incredibly well to say that it’s been their first campaign at this level.
It's ****ing outstanding. You do wonder without the current midfield work-rate, whether they'd concede more with more forward-looking ball players ahead of them, but yeah, multiple comings of age in City's defensive line this season.
Watching the Barnsley Sheff Utd game and Barnsley are a really really good side now. Seen them a few times recently and they've always looked really good. Quina and Bassi are fantastic and it's been a really good game so far. I don't think they'll catch us, as they've left it too late but they'll probably pass Reading
Sheff United 1-0 Barnsley Big goal for us against the run of play. If Coventry and Sheff Utd can win that might take a bit of pressure off us this afternoon as well.
Barnsley losing 2-0 which is helpful. Derby 1-1 with a few mins to go but it's constant Derby pressure. Hopefully, Cov hang in there. ... and Derby hit the post with the goalie nowhere near.
Maybe as back up but can you seriously say you'd leave one of these 3 CBs out? I think this experienced CB thing has been overplayed - we're in the top half of the table on goals conceded.
You need more that 3 centre halves in a First team squad. And yes, I'd leave one of the 3 out if we had real proven experience.
Not as back up Kingston. I would sign an experienced centre half to play with two of the others. We also need this lad to chip in with a couple of goals too. I rate Greaves but he needs to find the net with his head more often. More than anything we need more leaders on the pitch and are centre halves although all have good qualities are not this person.
Looks like Blackpool have packed in for the season. 3-0 down at home to Forest at half time. Blackpool are one of Barnsley's last few opponents of course...
