... Having played a game more.

Six behind with 8 to play is getting to be a pretty big ask.

The key will be us not losing to Reading, and beating either Cardiff or Bristol. Do that and we can probably put our feet up.

I'd set up like against Sheff Utd/Fulham for the next 4 games. Perform and we'll nick points.

It’s not nice to watch but think back to 2 seasons ago when we went down we’d have all been begging to play like this but because we’ve got a coach who wants to play attacking football most are confused why he isn’t trying now when it’s evident we don’t have the players for it. I’m actually encouraged he’s not really changed much since Grant left as he’s being pragmatic with the players he’s got something it took Grant 2.5 years to do.

This. **** attractive football, we need to effectively buy wins as best we can to get to the finish line. If we're safe with a game to spare, chuck a few kids onto the field against Forest.

Think he learned very quickly in a couple of games he tried to be more expansive and we choked straight out of the traps.

Need a couple more complete players in midfield to retain the bite and energy but add quality if we want to start playing a posession game.

If we limp over the line then 3 teams at least are worse than us amazingly! We have been inconsistent, lack an experienced central defender, a creative goal scoring midfielder and a proven scorer, not to mention a distinct lack of experience at championship level.

You say that, but we have a hell of a lot more championship experience in defence now than we did in August.

I'd still rather sign an experienced one as well as Davies when Derby go down than sign Bernard.

The 3 lads we have, with a proven 28/29 year old who knows the game and an experienced one like Davies as the 5 centre backs in the squad we could have the depth and quality next year but still wouldnt be over laden.

Yeah I wouldn’t rush to sign Bernard tbh don’t think he’s as good as some make out. He’s our 4th best centre back and would probably demand 2/3 million

I thought there was an option to buy?

Maybe Howden, Ulrika, Toastie, Lambo etc might know for sure, but if its a pre-agreed fee under the Allams then it surely won't be 7 figures.

If it is, we're well enough endowed with precocious youth, so I'd certainly favour experience.

Nowt wrong with Bernard BTW. He's just a year behind Greaves and Jones.

McLoughlin has been the surprise of the year.

    Along with Fleming.

If he's made available, he has no chance of breaking in. He's an hour and a half drive from home, and we've given him a chance at the highest level he's played at yet.

Why wouldn't we be front of his list to sign for?

Just my opinion of him based on what I see he signed a long deal didn’t he before he left just don’t think he’d be wanting to leave them permanently just yet. Nothing against us more his view on his career

I'm not fully convinced either, he seems to have the habit of putting in rash challenges in dangerous areas. Nevertheless, he is still young, and at the right price, I would mind taking him on.

One good experienced centre back is a must for the summer. It will make a massive difference to the young lads.
