There's lots of rumours, but neither party has said anything solid publicly. Speculation about him wanting £400-500k pw, but who knows?
supposedly wants £400k presumably as that is the sort of dosh being paid to Neymar Ronaldo etc . Really not sure we can afford that due to the increased demands from other players that would follow as night follows day . The main opinion is is one of Mane or Salah will be getting an improved contract and one leaves or runs his contract down and leaves on a free .
He’s one of the best players in the world right now. Big big loss if he’s sold. Liverpool are run properly though so I can see why they are hesitant to just give him silly money on a long term deal.
Bit of a stand off going on at the moment, yesterday i read an article reporting that Salah and his agent have said the decision is in the clubs hands as they know the requirements. Today i have read one where Klopp says it's now in Salah's hands as he knows what the clubs terms are.
Salah and Mane have both been playing silly buggers over signing new contracts since at least December, which is why they were planning to make a summer move for Luis Diaz - which they brought forward when we tried to gazump them in January
The Premier League has disqualified Abramovich as director of Chelsea: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/60720343 I really don't think that this affects anything. He couldn't work in this country already, for a start. Really can't see the point in this, beyond it being a gesture by the league and one that's come 20 years too late.
No specifics given (ex : are the reasons the same as those that Companies House use to bar individuals as directors ?? ) . Other than that, as you suggest a puny "virtue signal" attempt long after any material damage to PL title challengers was done.
Agree, everyone has known since day one that Roman’s dodgy and his money was dirty. Yet only in the last few weeks has anything been done about it. Like you say, virtue signaling is all it is
I'm still trying to work out how Boro's keeper didn't get a red card for handling outside the area for Doherty's miss...
I am commenting more on the seismic effect that Romans' money had on the PL over his time (ie the potential material title success denied to other clubs) , than the nature of his lucre. As to the PL, him and the financial doping of Chelsky was fine by you (the PL FFP nowhere near as hostile on paper as for UEFA etc) when it might not rock the broadcast TV or sponsor coffers. Not so much now eh.
1. Include "he was offiside" in the above, and I'll mark it an 11 on the Jimmy Liddel scale. 2. In the event that Chelsky persecution does not assist Spurs in finishing in the top 4, can we hold this one as a "get of jail free" card ??
Half-time: Lallana subbed on. 52 minutes: Lallana injured and subbed off. It's sad, but I think that might be it for him. Too much of a risk.
