I'm not saying that Hendrick isn't a neat player. Just think him playing automatically every game has upset the squad mentality. How can it not effect the morale of Amos particularly?

Oh, and Johansson wasn't even in the squad yesterday.
Johansen was sick yes so it was good we had Hendrick to play there. As said I think Amos is best further forward, think it's Chair whose position he is best challenging for

Yeah but he’s screaming in French.

Please stop letting him take free kicks ffs it’s painful.
Thought Barbet was back near his best yesterday, but that wasted free kick at the end really pissed me off. But who can take a decent free kick? Chair's seem to hit the wall. I'd have thought Willock might but he doesnt seem to get a look in.

****ing anyone but Barbet. It would save time to just give them a goal kick.

We said that too.
We are directly in line with the kick...and said was going to be a goal before it was kicked.

There was a clear gap to left of the wall for a left footed in swinger ( I think we were gambling they had noone who could do that) and still the wall was a man too short to the right... The gap was huge...and there was a lot of cardiff activities going on in and around that space...and we did not concentrate

Saying all that the kick was perfect into top corner
Yep I sit in upper loft & a perfect view of it

I missed this one, just knackered plus it was my son’s birthday.

Sounds bitterly disappointing as we really should have won by what I read on here. We need to get out of this run sharpish. Not too bothered about actual promotion, though the money would be nice, but a play off place would be huge fun. Still there to be had.

Hard to see a play-off place happening now.

We went in at half-time yesterday one up with Cardiff not in it. We came out in the second half as if the game was won and threw it away.

Something badly wrong at the moment.

I really don’t think it’s that deep. Even when we were winning at Bristol, Cov etc. we rarely played well. Now we’re playing not much worse and getting far less. The performances have been mediocre for a while.

Still in with a shout if (big if) we get something at Luton.

That’s a worry

That’s my take. I can’t say I’ve seen us really dominate a game yet this year, other than about 40 minutes at home to Reading. Many years before you were born, in the 72/73 season, we really bossed most games at home, and still only finished second to get promoted. I’ve seen many seasons where we have played better than this season and finished mid table/top ten. But the team spirit and fight has been great this year, if we are losing that we have an issue…..

I have no real basis for this supposition, but I wonder if Austin has become a negative influence.

We needed to sign an actual wing-back or two. Adomah is wasted doing donkey work and gets caught out. Sign a young Walker like we did under Warnock and you totally change this whole team. McCallum may be like a new signing.

Results seem to have coincided with Hendricks arrival?
I was thinking the exact same. Can knock one or 2 decent passes a game but his general play is facing his own goal and knocking it back to a defender. I thought he was right wing back for much of the cardiff game as Field seemed to be in there on his own. We didnt need this player, competition is healthy but when the others dont get chance to compete then it becomes unhealthy. For me, Ball is the back up for Field, Dozzell is the back up for Johanson, Amos is the back up for either.
What has become more apparant to me, is our lack of movement for the man in possesion. We actually showed more signs of that against Cardiff than we have in weeks, yet still lose. I look at some of the other teams in this league, playing raw youngsters and them grabbing their chance. We have Armstrong amongst a few in the youth, probably asking himself why hes there whilst the 1st team play with no striker! Or not even one on the bench.

And as players not being ready for the championship, i think thats absolute bullshit. Youre either good enough or youre not. Hendrick has brought nothing to our game that Dozzell hasnt. If players like Armstrong arent good enough to get on the bench when you only have one fit striker then good luck to him. This is management, cover your bench with players to cover positions, incase of injuries etc.

My insider info tells me Dickie is very much a vocal leader behind the scenes.
It's on the pitch we need to see some leadership, like ****ing headless chickens after they equalised. There just seems to be a complete lack of urgency and energy in the team over the last 2 months apart from the 2nd half against Blackpool

It’s all turned to 5hit since that predictor bloke did a spot saying we’d come second in the league. All we’ve done since then is come second in each game.

Can’t understand why we’re not bleeding in some of the youth. I don’t see that the gaps between age, experience and ability are that significant. A will to win can make a huge difference. Hence we see the likes of Borehamwood compete against and even occasionally prevail over higher ranked teams.

We lost Oslo so not sure how "good" it was to have Hendrick!

Lots of logic in that!!!! Barca lost sometimes when they had Messi. Man U lose with Ronaldo. We lose when we have Dieng, Chair and Wilock.... Hendrick played the ball out to Moses whose cross Gray scored from off a defender. So we'd have lost 2-0 without Hendrick based on your simplistic logic.

He also played one fantastic long ball to Chair, got him free on their touchline but as usual with Chair these days Iit came to nothing. Hendrick made a couple of mistakes too but otherwise was decent enough, and probably played better in that position than Dozzell would have done imo based on his previous games for us. Dozzell is one for the future though.

Armstrong scored our 2 goals for the U23's last night in a 4-2 loss to WBA in the U23 cup. Haven't heard of him scoring many recently otherwise, think he's been injured too. 2 from 8 games on loan with Torquay I think it was, was not that impressive either, so not sure he's done what it takes to get near the 1st team. But if he does now get among the goals perhaps he will get a chance. Kargbo has also scored a few for the U23's though some who have seen him play earlier werent impressed.

2 goals is still double what Johansen and Hendrick have scored this season combined ! Can't do any harm to give the kid a place on the bench at least.
