In the absence of ports and airfields close to the Ukrainian border then the road network is all that's left

    Here's one I found 50km away

    NEWS
Poland’s Rzeszów-Jasionka Airport, located in the southeast of the country just 50 miles (80km) from the Ukraine border, could be playing a significant part of the NATO response to the ongoing Russian invasion, with multiple Allied transport aircraft arriving over the past 24 hours.

The only option that is possibly viable would be by rail, but I'd imagine the Russians have their eyes on any transport hubs for exactly that reason. You need to cut off all supply routes at the start of any campaign, to starve the opposition of any resupply - that's why the Russians attacked the airports and sea ports early in the invasion

Read Figes yet? Did a chunk of Russian history during my degree and if I recall correctly he was the best of the historians on the revolutions.

The Yemen episode is by far the best, isn't it?

To be honest mate I’m finding them all really good. Gives such an insight into the Middle East and the problems it faces and how it effects is all.
I was, like Aimen says, under the Left Wing narrative that it was the evil Saudis attacking the poor defenceless Houthis and i was firmly on the side of the latter….WOW..was I wrong on that one.
My only annoyance is how often Aimen uses the word ‘basically’…..he must say it about 100 times per episode, and once noticed it becomes even more annoying.
Thanks for telling Steels who told me

Wait til you get to the latest episode, Borderline Post-Soviet Disorder - gives a good insight to Putins thinking prior to the invasion - it was recorded before the tanks started rolling, and I think they didn't believe that Putin would go for it

I think perhaps it's the one where I was most ignorant, hence enjoying it the most. You really do hear a very different story than the one you summarise, which I don't think is limited to just left wing - it's common across the UK media I think.

I've never watched Al-Jazeera, but I'm interested that you consider their reports factual. They may be, but how would you know?

I get tired of people here (not you, necessarily) complaining that the BBC is biased in one way or another, when the same people are happy to lap up output from Murdoch-owned news media. The BBC is respected around the World, but not here it seems.

Good point Strolls. I guess for me anyway is that when I’ve watched AJ, they always seem to be on the ground during conflicts and it’s seems to be more actual “reporting” rather than long drawn our dialogue from some studio guest. Of course they are almost certainly biased in some way, shape or form….however I just seem to find their reporting more “gritty”
Does that make sense (probably not but hard to fully explain)

Your post made me have a look at AJ before I put a film on and definitely confirmed my views. Had reporters in many of the Ukrainian cities effected, reported from Ukrainian civilians trying to escape through the corridor from Mariupol and a sound bite from a separatist commander. Was pretty much pro-Ukrainian but also gave a Russian point of view. Seemed on the face of it, trying to stay as neutral as possible.

At the moment I’m marvelling at the number of people the BBC has on the ground. Who, of course, we pay for. Too many perhaps, but now they include Jeremy Bowen, one of the few journalists who I really respect. I was very impressed that Clive Myrie managed to get back from Kyiv to present Mastermind this evening.

Maybe I might give it a try…..I just got bored with the constant reports, or so it seemed, from Polish refugee camps….just seemed a bit “lazy”.
Sky has just become the same reports played on loop constantly with the presenters, like Burley, thinking they are the stars of the show.
