Chelsea were defo a yoyo club when I first started following footie in the early/mid 80's. They were on a par with Millwall back in those days.
how times have changed. now they are making a massive donation to charity. We just donated £35m to Arsenal for Iwobi. Different levels RA works on.
Great goal that one... iirc he did it again a couple of days later against Forest...again on TV...think he won both itv and bbc goal of the season awards for them. Very rare to be on the highlights back then ...on 4 or 5 games a week had highlights out of 11 games per week ... God knows how many brilliant goals went unrecorded! As for hoddle ... truly brilliant player ... the best I've seen in a spurs shirt but now I find him an unbearable pratt as a pundit
Off to Villa Park tomorrow. Been a ground I've been wanting to tick off for years so buzzing for it. A relatively local away too so I don't lose my whole Saturday which is a bonus.
I remember being in a terrible place the last time we played there. Not emotionally. I was just in Aston. Hate those ****s.
I'd love to go back to the City Ground if we get them in the cup loved it there, be nice not to sit on my hands.
In the 90’s I used to watch Spurs live on a leather sofa fabric one in the noughties had a season ticket for about 3 years on a lilac coloured fabric rocking chair…probably the seasons I enjoyed the most live tbh Currently got a season ticket on a couple of nice greyish 3 and 2 seaters
When I started going with the old man in 1969/70, Villa were languishing in the old Third division ... think Wednesday were there too ... both Man United and Spurs got relegated during those earlier years and Chelsea, Sunderland and ourselves used to be regularly bouncing back and forward between the top 2 divisions ...
Leeds fans won't be happy with the refereeing in this game so far. And no more Premier league on Hesgoal
