Russia vetoed a draft UN resolution to condemn the invasion of Ukraine after a debate at the UN Security Council.

You've got to admire him and the Ukranian people, refusing to be bullied and forced out of their own Country, even if it means losing their lives. Shame other leaders not too far from home haven't got his dignity and balls !

Not particularly, if they'd have voted to condemn it that would've been good. By abstaining they are just saying we aren't taking anyone's side yet (in public), can't help feeling they are just biding their time waiting to see what happens and then make their move.

Good in the fact that they didn’t support Russia completely . That was according to the article I read anyway. Think it was on Sky

Genuine question….what’s obvious ? Is he saying that Putin is having some kind of Psychotic episode ?

So, some theories....

A) He's a heavy steroid user, so you have to question his mental state.

B) He's been diagnosed with a terminal illness, and wants to see himself as hero of the people before he clocks off

C) He's a paranoid schizophrenic with severe mental health problems.

D) He sees how week the West are at the moment and is using this opportunity for a land grab

E) He's got a tiny knob and is feeling insecure and needs to.prove to his missus that he's a "real man" <laugh>

Option b has crossed my mind. Nothing more dangerous than a man with nothing to lose, as the saying goes.

Fair play to the Ukrainians that are putting up a good fight. Although we don’t know how long this will last as Russia has superior numbers and most importantly air superiority. Russia will get bogged down in this. It will be their Vietnam.

Is it any surprise that Belgium asks for an exemption on diamond sales and Italy an exemption on luxury goods? Sometimes people being killed just isn't important enough...
Agree Sooper, I heard something similar with kicking them out of SWIFT and Germany/Italy not wanting to commit due to losing out on fuel.
As I said, I will save for another day but what is the point of the EU if they can’t be united on something like this?
The World needs to stand together and bring this idiot down.

Or a mixture of the above.

The only one looking like a hero at the moment is Zelensky, essentially powerless but saying all the right things. If, according to Putin, Ukraine is not a real country, there seem to be a lot of people proud to fight for it.

They’re pretty cool as well. I’m in Copenhagen for my first post lockdown footie trip (meeting Danishqpr later to see if we can find a bar with the match on) having breakfast watching the rolling Danish news coverage. Their man in Kyiv, in full flak jacket and tin helmet, standing in the main square, while people stroll past in the background, chatting, having a smoke and walking their dogs. Some have guns slung over their shoulders. Respect.

Hmm, BA cancelling flights due to ‘technical issues’. Cyber attack?

No it won't without outside help it will be most likely over within a week

You obviously know your stuff Kiwi……far more than the other drivel that sometimes gets spouted on here.
Totally agree…the Russians will probably have this done within a month.
Didn’t someone on here talk of the Russian equipment being obsolete and crap ? Complete load of old bollox, as has been proven.

Definitely a few on the far right will be fighting for their motherland….like the Azov Battalion for example.
Can also see many of Europes elite neo Nazis taking up arms “for the cause” like many did in the Balkans war…..

I doubt it will be over in a week but things will heat up in the next 24-48hrs. that’s not from some Internet general on Twitter who probably works at Amazon packing boxes but from a decent war correspondent.
