If it's a final with a trophy that gets you back into Europe then yes indeed Ponks ... not too different to when you used to have The European Cup, Cup Winners Cup and Fairs Cup as European trophies... been drawn against Rennes in the next round ... long way to go but a final in a nice European capital would be a lovely end to the season
Genuine question, is the Europa Conference a whole new competition or did it replace a previous competition?
Peeps take the piss out of it but genuinely I think it's a great opportunity for the smaller teams to get some competitive European football. Winning the uefa Cup in 2001 was one of my favourite Liverpool memories, we played some total unknowns along the way too. **** we could've ended up in it this season so I aint taking the piss
Whole new ... Spurs were in it but got kicked out for not fulfilling a fixture due to Covid ... we dropped into it after finishing 3rd in Europa League group ... funnily enough, Napoli who effectively put us out of the Euopa drew Barca in the knockout phase and are now out ... funny old game Saint ... got something still to play for in a season where we have had catastrophic injuries and when some of those key players are on the verge of coming back into the picture...
Yeah get that but just four five weeks ago everyone was saying City comfortably Tbh I still think it will be city at a canter but at the moment it’s a two horse race but could change so quickly imho
Don't know if you saw the draw for the last 16 ties? ... some really good clubs in it still ... Roma, Marseilles, Feyenord, PSV Eindhoven...
Rapid and some other plumber team too Point is it was a lesser European comp, but that didn't lessen the joy of winning it. So like lestah winning the cardboard uefa cup will be great for him/them
I have just finished saying this on our board For me a trophy for the team is a trophy I love the FA Cup but we are hopeless in it lmao
Well it's all relative still imo. If we win the micky mouse cup and nothing else this year it will be underachieving Peps City not winning the cl so far, utter failure Utd buying varane Sancho and ronny and not finishing top 4, shambolic faliure Lestah winning the conference league would be a big success.. when you consider the trophies genuinely available for them to win. Lestah is just an example @FosseFilberto before you start weaping about prem titles like we don't all know you was born way before 1892
I would've been happy to be in it this season, and will be happy if we get in it next season. It's definitely better than the Inter toto, which is something West ham won, but very rarely mention doing so.
Exactly mate you can only win whats available to you at the time so why not go for it and and enjoy the ride. Its only to be scoffed at if your massive like us
Tough team to play in this comp. And that just backs up my point about the conference league giving less established teams the chance to galavant around Europe throwing chairs and stuff, it's great I think.
Hope you win for him (and yourself), took my youngest to Anfield for the first time and it was up in the new stand which is **** and we lost to Palace.
