Yes, bought by Lowe on the advice of Georges Prost. I remember something being set up with Arsenal when he signed, anyone know what happened to that?

Excellent player he is. He dictates the game superbly. In the Man U game, he was awesome.

im still not 100% convinced, i seem to miss the games he does well (but didnt think he was all that last night - which i did go to) so i dont know. i know he has talent but personally i havent seen him give enough energy in a game, and he needs a player to act as a buffer - but that said he doesnt get forward enough to warrant a player covering his arse when he does get forward. if he advanced higher up the pitch more often he could probably add alot more to his game and get those goals which grab the attention.

Interesting that you think he didn't have a good game last night. Why do you think he was off? Personally i thought he was excellent. Onto your other point about him not getting further up the field, is this related to last night. If so, watch the Saints player interview. He said, last night he kept a holding role to let Ward-Prowse run and get further up the field. Certainly in other games I have noticed him getting forward a lot more.

If Morgan could shoot he'd be worth £20m ....... I may have exaggerated a little.

Schneiderlin (at the advanced age of 21) says he tried to help Ward-Prowse by letting him do all the running..because at 16 you love running!

Haha you aren't the first person to say that.

There he is again raking about with my wee brother during the pitch invasion, the baldy git.

I love Morgan! Just watched his interview, he's still got a bit of English to learn, but I'm sure he can settle down here in Southampton. As long as he settles down and enjoys it here then i'm happy. He shouldn't find it too hard to pull.

A mate of mine tried it on with him (unsuccessfully!) about 18 months ago. He was out eating with Jaidi and Waigo, and we were a few tables down at the time. She had no idea who he was, but liked the look of him. Didn't do anything initially, but a couple of hours later Morgan and Waigo popped up again next door for some drinks (where we had already gone ourselves straight after dinner.....I'm guessing the old man Radhi had turned in for the night!) - and of course in the intervening period, much alcohol had been consumed on our part, and so she was more than willing to chat him up.

Got a photo of that night somewhere, with Morgs and Waigo centre-stage.

Him and Ward-Prowse are the definition of ball control, apart from Xavi & Iniesta.

Best £1m + we spent at any time under Lowe and the best thing the Dutch Duo did during their time at the club.

I'm hoping for a Hammond-Schneiderlin CM partnership on Saturday.

As a dyed-in-the-wool francophile I cannot let that slur go without comment. Zidane et al? The team that dominated World Football at the turn of the millennium, while our "golden generation" ran around like headless chickens? Ask England about the French character after we went from 1-0 to 1-2 in the last 5 minutes the last time we played them in an important game. Criticise if you must, but let's avoid stereotypical Sun speak.

The most annoying thing about Schneiderlin I found so far, is that he wanted to leave Southampton on FIFA 12 because he was homesick. Hasn't be been living in England for 3 years now, you would have thought he would have adapted by now ;)

The way he strokes the ball around the pitch is Xavi-esque, he spent a much needed two seasons in league 1 to toughen him, he will only get better. Basically, he is much better against good teams ie. Man Utd, but I would rather have Hammond in for his work rate against more 'hard-working' teams.

It was not ment to be a slur so sorry if you took offence.
What i ment to meen is that most french players are relaxed a little to much in some games. Like henry and even zidane one game they would sparkle then the next couple look lazy or to chilled out.
And there's no point bringing the England team into it as we all know their ****. <laugh>

It's actually more important to have someone like Morgan in against hard working teams (like Reading) as it is even more important to keep possession and the ball moving with crisp, sharp passing. I think he was missed against Reading for that very reason. If you have workers against workers it becomes a battle and a midfield "grind".

His ability to keep the ball moving to a red and White shirt is key then.

Funny you say that, I was going to put in the thread and I totally agree. The game was crying out for someone like Schneiderlin, keep the ball and move it on and make Reading do the work. But as he played a full 90 mins against a strong West Ham team that might have taken a lot out of him.
