Just to clarify.
The club has no plans to move supporters and it has not been discussed with supporter groups.

I can only say that there are no plans to move supporters.Do we have to move fans at all? The City fans in E1-E3 are great for the atmosphere. We could do with that in N4-N7 as well. We only have to allocate 2,000 tickets to away fans. I’ve no idea why we gave the Blunts 4,000 tickets to fill the entire North Stand.
thanks - just dug mine out of spam - was 10 questions asking about age / gender / and match day experience one question related to where the away fans should be located - seems like 10 have responded so far of which 90% would prefer to move back to the North Stand
Yep, that's why the NW corner plan would need to take in part of the northern end of the West Stand.10% of the stadium capacity is 2,500, which would extend from the NW corner to just beyond the North Stand goal - N1 to N4 and possibly some of N5 as well, then City fans from N6 onwards. Don’t forget it’s not just a matter of configuring the seats that way, the toilets, concessions and turnstiles would also need to be configured for that layout too. And the safe evacuation routes would all need to add up too. I think this is why splitting the North Stand is not as easy as it might appear, it’s all doable but it might have a negative impact on capacity due to the Green Book requirements.
It's not 10 respondents it's 10 answers you gave.
I got it too today.
But you do see a load of TWS behind the goal with glum faces and throwing the odd ****er sign at the celebrating away players. Always an enjoyable sightLeeds have the right idea. Vocal HOME support behind both goals. Away team scores and you can hear em but don’t see the celebrations.
Just saying…
If its not a daft question. Why is having the away fans off camera so important?
Don’t think that’s doable. The entry to the north end of the West Stand and it’s concourses are all separate from the North Stand, there’s a tunnel for vehicles between the two stands. So you would need two entirely separate away ends, separated from home fans and separately policed/stewarded. Can’t think of a ground in the land that would put up with that much faff.Yep, that's why the NW corner plan would need to take in part of the northern end of the West Stand.
As you say, some reconfiguring would be needed, but I fail to see that it would be major and why it couldn't be done.
when did they start separatng home and away supporters I know they do but wondered when. When I was living in the area there was no sepration. Not sure why you need it now.Hope others agree that this important topic deserves it's own thread.
I know it's under active re-consideration as we speak. It really is important to get this one right.
Having away fans take up the whole North Stand has been crazy. So, yes, something has to change, especially given Acun's aim to significantly improve attendances. I'm sure he also wants to see a better atmosphere too; meaning 'hostile' but in a positive way.
IMO, moving away fans to the NE corner would be a HUGE mistake. It will definitely annoy a raft of our support, it's been tried before & it didn't really work, it splits the more 'hostile' support, etc.
Moving away fans to take say half of the West Upper is unfortunately not a viable option; the stadium design simply does not support that as an option.
Surely the best option by far is to firstly restrict the away support to nearer the minimum allowed (is it 10% which would be c; 2-2.5k, which is more than enough for most games anyway) then to move them to the NW corner. This would give the home support something like 3/4 (or minimum 2/3's) of the North Stand running around without a break into the East Stand. This whole run of North & East Stand is then the '(positively) hostile' support, SS remains family focussed, WS remains 'best' stand.
It would surely only take relatively minor structural and match day segregation changes to allow this move, and the issue would be finally solved once and for all. There would need to be moving / installation of a gate(s) and maybe a wall, behind North Stand to segregate from home support, and likely installation of additional away support facilities on the concourse - all relatively minor. Inside there would be only a few rows of segregation between away support and West / North Stand home support, properly stewarded / policed as they do at most other grounds.
Surely this is the obvious and best answer.
The club has to get it right this time.
I can only say that there are no plans to move supporters.
If the club want as many away fans as possible then you’re right…but do they?I think the problem with your proposal is that the club will want to (maybe even have to) be able to accommodate larger away crowds when the demand is there. You could say away fans only get one end of the North stand normally and the rest of it is City fans most of the time except for when there's a big away following, but then it would mean we can only sell matchday tickets in there rather than memberships, which would make it unlikely to be consistently full, and probably won't get many vocal fans in there.
What about safe standing ? Any plans for that ?
Vast majority ‘behave’ so why punish everyone?Unlikely if we can't get our own to behave in seats.
Vast majority ‘behave’ so why punish everyone?
Our support is not a troublesome one
Those that don’t ‘behave’ get thrown out anyway
We should be pushing for safe standing ASAP
