Question! Is it just me that can watch good films over and over again? Has anybody else seen one film over 100 times? Let's just say I know who Kayser Soze is 6/ True Grit bold talk for a one eyed fat man at least 50 times 5/ How the west was won. Waaaa Jimmy Stewart! 4/ Serenity. Star Wars wishes it was this movie. 3/ Casablanca. The beginning of a beautiful friendship started when I was but a kid and continues to this day. 2/ LA Confidential. My go to modern Noir movie! 1/ Jaws. We are gonne need a bigger thread for the amount of times I've watched this fantastic film. The GOAT! Imho. Honorable mentions... Och the list is endless. What say you?
The Big Lebowski, too many times to count. LA LA Land must be on 10 watches now. Control 3 or 4 NL Christmas Vacation every year for decades. Like yourself I could go on.
The big Lebowski and Oh Brother where art thou should be in my top 10. I had Coen blank. What can I say!
Grand Budapest already on about 5 watches. The Royal Tennabaums and Rushmore probably the same. Do like a Wes Anderson film.
Airplane Naked Gun Terminator 2 Blade Runner The Dark Knight Rocky 4 Django Aliens Laputa Lord of The Rings Two Towers They are the ones that immediately sprang to mind. All timeless imo
Loved Sicario. Didn’t rate the sequel though. Always found No Country a bit overrated tbh. Love the villain but found the ending a bit meh.
It's a great adaptation of the Cormack McCarthy book, bad **** happens and they capture the McCarthy mood. I really wish someone would do The Border Trilogy, would be epic.
That's such a superb moment in the film when they first belt that out. Whole thing based on Homers Odyssey, genius stuff.
There was about 7 or 8 of us living in my mates villa. After we all watched it, every now and again, for months afterwards, someone would start belting this out and everyone else would join in.
This is my favourite track from that movie. And such a poignant moment of reflection in such a fast paced story. Originally a Skip James track, but done superbly by Chris Thomas King 'You ain't no kind of man if you ain't got no land'
IIRC Tim Blake Nelson actually sang 'in he jailhouse now' in the film and then recorded an 'old-timey' album afterwards. Great film, close to a 9.
There's a bluegrass band that have a Sunday residency in a bar in Cardiff, they finish with that track. Great Sunday out they play from 1.30 - 4.30 just sit there sipping beer and watch them.
