How bad must he be if he can’t get in ahead of that ****e man. We literally don’t have a right back currently and he hasn’t had a sniff. Ridiculous.
It’s a weird one. Something is going on with him but there has been no mention by Johnson or anyone else. He could be having trouble settling or be way off the fitness level we need.
Looks to me like he is 'one for the future' I was excited about him signing till I saw his age, yet another very young player, also from a lower league
This coaching set up is pretentious enough to think that players can’t add value until they’ve been coached their way for a bit. At some point (which we are well beyond) you have to throw players in to test them.
only way to find out if they are really going to make the grade, which is why i am surprised younger was allowed to leave as when he got his chance he certainly let no one down.
Id be starting him on Tuesday. Winchester was struggling yesterday and looked shot to bits in his post match interview.
This is the whole issue, we are signing players who could be brilliant players in 3 year, but unfortunately we are getting them at the very very early stages of their career when inconsistency is expected Fine if we had a first team of experience and we could gradually dip them in. Not if we need them now for promotion.
Actually thought he looked decent tonight. No idea why he hasn’t played a game yet, more great decision making from the club.
For me, Hume was the only positive from tonight. Looked good on the ball, overlapped well and most of his passes found a man in yellow. Matete had a good first half but a poor second. Batth looks like a car crash and Doyle was labouring all game. Clarke looked good in patches, but those patches were short and very far apart. Evans
I thought Hume had an impressive debut last night. He has earned the RB spot and should be considered as a starter (unless his form goes downhill)
Matete was another bright spot last night (apart from the second goal). https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/4...s-bright-spot-in-dismal-defeat-to-cheltenham/ "Clearly, it’s going to take time for Matete to settle, build an understanding with his teammates, and start producing his best but there were signs that landing him could prove to be a fantastic bit of business. Matete’s tenacity was clear to see in his work out of possession – winning seven of his 12 defensive duels, three of his four aerial duels, and four of 10 loose ball duels (Wyscout). In future, he’ll want to improve his defensive and loose ball success rate but the number of duels that he was involved in against Cheltenham highlight his hunger and work rate. Additionally, the midfielder read the game and broke up play well, as his seven interceptions and 12 ball recoveries last night illustrate. The 20-year-old’s quality while in possession was also on show at the Jonny-Rocks Stadium. With Cheltenham happy to sit in deep for long periods, Matete took advantage and had success driving forward with the ball at his feet, often using a combination of his agile footwork and strength to create space as he completed all five of his dribbles against Fleetwood. He looked after possession fairly well as well – completing 38 of his 47 passes (81% success) – including five of eight into the final third."
