Thanks buddy. I have emailed the club tonight, so hopefully I will hear in the next couple of days. Cheers
I read that article over breakfast this morning. Although I can't see us signing Endrick for one second, I'm glad we had scouts at that tournament. Brazil produces a lot of young talent so we could unearth a hidden gem.
At least we are amongst good company in that list and whilst Endrick is out of our reach, we should aim to be able to compete with the likes of Ajax & Benfica in terms of attracting young talent. Yes they are bigger clubs but financially we are similar, if anything I imagine our total wage bill is higher. We already have a good reputation for developing talent, but if Sports Republic take it to the next level then why not compete with such clubs.
Cant wait for the WUM meltdown when that is announced. Neither will be first team regulars in the long run, but represent decent squad members if they are happy to stay.
Jack Stephens is 3rd, maybe even 4th choice. If we let him go we would struggle to find someone both good enough and willing to step into that role for us. It is a little like when Yoshida was here. Likeable guy, capable of a clanger every game to the point neutrals would notice, never first choice - but a good person to have in the squad Odd that this contradicts Dan Sheldon’s claims that these deals are done Thinking about it a little more - what on Earth does “all but in place” mean in this context when it talks about agreements to extend. Seems relatively meaningless actually. Almost like the good old “gentleman’s agreement”
It’s weird if it’s true and we never announced it, but also we know Dan Sheldon is ‘ITK’ and not sure he’d have announced either if they weren’t true.
Dan Sheldon basically announced McCarthy had signed a new contract back in September. And I am pretty sure when talking about it on TSP he said Stephens signed his last year or something like that
