Realistically his job was impossible when he goes to Poch to say that Youri Tielemans is available and will really balance our midfield, but Poch rejects the suggestions and says he wants Ndombele - and only Ndombele

This is where the dogpiling on Hitchen become blatant scapegoating, and frankly I'm curious which of the usual suspects on Twitter started it, because the amount of convenient memory lapses to come to that conclusion has me wondering which of the twelve people (aka 43 chins, or 38 teeth) who were outside our training ground on Monday started it
Yet well after Poch had gone you still bought Ndombele?

You sure it wasn't Hitchen that wanted him and you are just reading the wrong ITKs?

Think Poch had him for a few months but still

suggests to me that he didn’t have a clue and went with what the sacked manager wanted because well he recommended him then he must be good?

makes sense for Steve ‘I hate transfer windows’ Hitchen

And notably, nobody wanted him after that.

Whoever signed him failed miserably, his issues were no secret. The boy has talent but signing him for huge money to play in one of the most physically demanding league when he’s always struggled with his weight was beyond silly.

I think Poch thought he would be the one to fix him and take him from promising to a proper top player but he never had the job long enough to do it. It’s known he was a Poch signing though. Hitchin wanted Tielemans the summer before.

Did you buy him and loan him back or was he injured?
Really can't remember him playing under Poch but then again, i don't pay much attention to you.

He didn’t play much IIRC, either injuries or just classic Tanguy behaviour but he wasn’t fit. Didn’t loan him though.

Him and Lo Celso both came in 2019 after the CL final.

They were the start of the rebuild Poch was talking about. Ndombele scored on his debut but that was probably his highlight at Spurs. Lo Celso got injured straight away and that set the tone for him

Rumours from various Tier 1s that Ndombele took a wage cut in order to push the Lyon move through as we weren't budging from wanting 100% covered.

Interesting.

Pochettino bought him. Played at the beginning of the 2019-20 season. Scored on his debut v Villa. Me and my girls were there and actually thought we'd seen the start of a great spurs career. <doh>

Germany striker Thomas Muller has revealed Bayern Munich have not started negotiations with him over extending his contract at the club beyond 2023. The 32-year-old has been linked with Everton and Newcastle United. (Bild, via Mail)

would like his experience at Spurs for a few years. I think it’s foolish to poo poo what some of the top stars can bring in the twilight of their careers as has been proven time and time again. You just got to make sure you buy the ones with the right attitude and it’s fair to say this guy is the consummate pro imo and he’s a winner…absolute top notch

Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester City, Tottenham and Manchester United have all been offered the chance to discuss a potential deal with Juventus striker Paulo Dybala after the 28-year-old Argentine's talks about a new contract beyond this summer collapsed. (90min)

Looking at that list (bar Arsenal) I guess it’s safe to say this ship has sailed for us.

Zlatan mk II, but this time Kane is not some rising talent
needing UEFA nous for the CL.

Lack of starting XI time + pension mode + perhaps
not in CL next season, That is the environment both
Spurs and Muller would face.

Id play him behind Kane

Real Madrid are considering exercising a buy-back clause in Sergio Reguilon's contract to re-sign the 25-year-old Spain defender from Tottenham in the summer. (ABC - in Spanish)

I'd be surprised if this got beyond the consideration stage...if it's got that far. He's not exactly setting the place alight and I certainly don't think that we should be offering him a better contract to see off Madrid.

The main problem, were he to depart, is that it's yet another player to sign in the summer, when we're already going to need half a dozen, at least.

No big loss imho.
Not terrible, not great ...pretty average tbh

Knew it wasn’t just me that hasn’t been massively impressed by Reguilon.
