Some Turkish lads had a very similar banner to this at the Blackburn game. They displayed it in East Stand before the kick off then stood with it outside the main reception after the game to greet Acun. It was a professionally made one and about, a guess this, 3' by 18' long.

If it's something that size I can get one made at work, the printer will do it at 1.3m (approx 4ft) by anything upto 50m (approx. 160ft) the price would depend on the length

Went across and shook the lads hand.
Do you know, did they get to see Acun, or should I say, did Acun get to see them and the banner?

I might order one that says

"I am hugely grateful for you getting rid of the previous owners...but I am suspicious of anyone who would want to buy a football club so I am keeping a close eye on you...mark my words.
Good luck though...you seem a decent bloke at the moment"
Can anyone give a quote for banner sized 1.5 metres by 2.5 miles? Would look great draped over the parapet of the Humber Bridge.

Some people think like that. They don't want owners and think all stadiums should be taken out of private ownership and made places of community interest. Meanwhile, back in the real world...

Odd isn’t that the poster who this is aimed at also posted the opening thread!
Stop this constant sniping.
I am against club owners but it doesn’t mean to say I will not thank one who states that he see’s us as one big family.
It’s sort of sports club presidential style of owner.

I said I’m suspicious of anyone who wants to be one, that doesn’t mean I think clubs should be taken out of private ownership. It simply means I’m suspicious of motives that’s all.

Sometimes you’re suspicious at first then when you know more you find out somethings great

I did too. I stood with them until 20 past 10 and then came away. They were still there, some of Acun's team came out of reception and a couple had taken snaps of them, but when I left Acun still hadn't come out to greet them. It wouldn't have been long though because his driver had the Merc running and waiting.

Presidential style like Barcelona or Real Madrid? The other 2 clubs in Spain run under that system, Bilbao and one I bet most people couldn't name without googling, are run better but don't win things. Or the supposedly fans owned clubs in Germany? As someone wrote in article not so long ago are fans of various clubs in Germany in favour of selling their best players, especially to Bayern to enable to continue their league being dominated by them, ot does someone else have the final say?

I don't think this benevolent, munificent being you describe exists, unfortunately.

Bloody hell that would be even harder to get on a banner than my suggestion

Aside from the stadium guff I think like that, and it's mainly down to experience. As someone recently said to me, most owners piss down the back of fans and tell them it's raining. :emoticon-0100-smile

Sorry DBT. Is this the second banner?

Sometimes owners can be better than Presidents. Can see why it is popular with some connected to them looking at the back handers and commissions which have been floating about.<laugh>
