OK, well don't think Sunderland fans would expect a push for the PL immediately after returning to the Championship either. I think the euphoria of finally getting out of League One and a consolidation season in the Championship would be fine, although with the funds they have they may well be able to fund an immediate push and I think Grant would do adequately.

They've achieved precisely what there results show they deserve, which until recently was second in the league. It could be argued that some of the excessive defeats were partly a consequence of their ability to handle the pressure of expectation from the fans, and that will increase exponentially if they get promoted.
