Well I thought I'd just concentrate on watching the match on Saturday and enjoy it, 2-0 down at half time I thought "**** it, I'll nip to the shop for a few tinnies and hopefully we'll get back in it". 4-0 when I switched back on FFS. turned the cùnt off and saw my fooking arse Even worse when I saw the end result later on ... Shocked about Johnson sacked, lad txt me tonight at work. Didn't dislike the bloke and he got it right more than he got it wrong. But it was the level of wrong that was worrying. Oh well, we move on.
Why is that tit Storey still tweeting about SAFC? Apparently we would be 12 points better off with the manager and players he had lined up! Bloke is a proven ****ing buffer but I'll give him one thing he keeps at it .
Haha. I never realized that, I thought he was on the rock and roll. He says LJ left a right ****ing mess for him to sort out....
Unless its an unknown French/German/ other EU unknown manager I would be comfortable with one of the following approaches: 1. An established personality - Coleman or Hughton works for me 2. It does appear that the 90s/noughties crop of talent are turning good. Gerrard- Lampard- Rooney- Fergusson- Viera. Why not?
Our recent acquisitions play for a league 1 club but I wouldn't call them league one players to be honest. They are certainly vastly improved on what we brought in under the spiv. Talented youngsters from top 4 prem league clubs, highly regarded players rebuilding from injury hampered times at prem league clubs. Prospects snapped up for 8 figures hoping to get some competitive football under their belts and German players hoping to do the same. Don't think they compare too closely with your average league 1 recruits. Can't do much about the balance so I agree on you with that, however the right person should be able to get the best out of what we have.
Get Liam Manning. Young, up and coming, has done a great job at MK Dons, plays football as it should be played.
Appreciate it's all about opinions but Hughton would last 5 minutes here. He plays a VERY negative style of football. Our fans wouldn't warm to that. He got chased out of Forest for it.
This is a good post. It was the scale of the defeats that have done him. If we lost 2-1 at Rotherham, 1-0 Pompey and 2-1 yesterday then he is still in a job. It's the manner of the defeats that has cost him. Players gave up yesterday
We've done some clever shopping, admittedly, but they've all had to restart at League 1 club for a reason. Johnson could arguably get the best out of what we have but there's no point signing as many wingers as we have if you have to use wing backs. That problem won't go away with a new manager.
How do you work that one out? A decent manager could sort the defence out and allow us to play a flat back 4 with wingers further forward.
