Ian Doyle (Liverpool Echo):
"I think this will be the busiest summer since 2018 in terms of incomings - but it might be a case of quality rather than quantity. A couple of big buys and perhaps some younger talent that can be brought through.
"All logic points to the fact FSG are going to spend reasonably big this summer. I'm fully expecting there to be a few notable departures, and I think there are some key areas that will need improving - midfield and the forward line.
"I've mentioned previously I expect there to be at least one new senior forward at the club in the summer."

So in other words, a few more kids and the re-signing of Origi as a 'new' signing?

He's guessing.

nothing wrong with that.

In the end we need to look at the losses from 2020 and 2021 and profit that we are likely to make in 2021/22 wit the CL run/ prem position etc.

theres no reason to think we are not going to lose 100mil over covid and make a 100mil profit again.

The conte "get rid" list

So the questions:

a) Would you for LFC

b) Would you if you were any other Prem club?

For me theres some value there for a lot of clubs to take a punt on. Rodon is not a bad cb at all. We are well stocked but i'd be taking him to another club.

Lo celso is alright, not up to our level though, ndombele is a hard no for me on attitude and Alli has really gone downhill in desire.

I would punt on alli cheap but i just don't see him picking it up and suddenly being all action again.

Berwijn, half decent. better than minime but not worth a lot of money.
Personally wouldn't touch any unless they were basically free

Can it be any less busy than the last couple windows?

Man City will be another level when they sign Haaland.

Real Madrid I assume will get Mbappe for free, which is crazy.

Nothing wrong with guesses... Except when newssites make a big deal about it and treat it as facts, like they sometimes do.

Worse:. Ex player "A" says Liverpool should sign "B" and then the article goes on to hint that it might be actually happening because an ex player suggested it should.

Only thing worse than that is when some random TV star or Hollywood actor makes a statement about who we should sign and news sites treat it as news.

And the absolute worst. Piers Morgan... How many damn "Piers Morgan says..." Articles have I read over the years? Thankfully they're usually about Arsenal no us... But why the duck does anyone care what he thinks? He's wrong about everything.

A combination of a need to write something, because they get paid to do so, and an obsession with celebrity.
Most of it is mindless guff - but as long as people keep lapping it up they'll keep churning it out I suppose.
You often see the absurd over-reaction on social media (and on here sometimes) to some wild rumour someone has pulled out of their arse.

Really all we need is one "source" to publish a wild rumour of our own and we could count how many requotes it is away from being a fact. I think 3 degrees of separation from the wild rumour maximum and its on sky sports or BBC.
