Out of curiosity, do you always drink Carling/lager or do you ever get a hankering for ale?

If you were eating a hearty steak pie, would you still reach for the Carling?
I suppose it's just habit. In tins, I drink Lidl's own. It's decent Pilsner and very reasonably priced at £2.90 for four cans.

Going to university in Birmingham put me off bitter for life. I drank bitter before I went there. Ansells and M&B were like drinking poison. If I can get Leeds Tetley or Thwaites, I'll have a pint of that now and again, but neither are common in Warrington. They did sell Thwaites in the Grange, but it's changed now and I hardly ever go in anyway.. Sometimes have a Morretti (Cheese) or Peroni (not in the Cheese) rather than Carling

Fosters tastes like ****ing detergent. The cask ale goes pretty well.

TBH, I think it depends where abouts in the country you are too. I've had done draft lagers that taste decent in one place and disgusting in another. I used to drink Fosters years ago and that was usually the case, same for Carling too.

And it's comments like that that make it hard to work you out with drinks. I'd honestly prefer water to Lidl's own and Carling but I love Peroni and Birra.

Won the quiz last night with a depleted and makeshift team. It had been dumbed down somewhat from the usual level. My ticket was then drawn out for the big prize question. You get a choice of three envelopes, so I chose C. The question was what year did Eastenders first appear on television? I've never watched the ****ing **** in my life, but I was one year out <grr> The winning team takes the kitty ad gets a free drink each. Mine was Moretti while it was free <laugh>

I've never watched it either. I guessed after reading your post, and was two years out.

I guessed at 1987, two years out...
