'Some' fans decided at Wembley
No such pettiness from the travelling 'Sweaty Sock' Tigers...
Mine was being stood with my grandson surrounded by family and friends at Wembley stadium with tears in my eyes as we sang along to 'Abide with me' before the FA Cup Final with Arsenal. I never in my life thought I would experience a moment like that with Hull City.
Seconded by walking out of the Emirates head high as we has just beaten Arsenal in a league game with their fans actually coming up to us and shaking our hands. Unforgettable.
Beating Spurs away wasn't bad either.
Or beating Sheffield Wednesday and Sheffield United at Wembley. Not some thing you see every day. as a City fan.
That trip across on the North Sea Ferry full of City fans, again with all my family to watch City in Europe was another one off my bucket list.......I could be here all day.

The Allams weren't in charge when we beat Arsenal and Spurs away... it was in our first season in the premier league.
Think he is talking about his lasting memories of watching the club and things he thought he would never see not just under the Allams.
Ah fair enough, it's just he replied to someone saying "The fans decided at Wembley. Getting booed as you raise the winners trophy. Yes, yes, petty to think of that as my abiding memory of their tenure, but for me, that is their legacy" then went on to say that his second memory was beating arsenal and spurs.

Late Friday night here in Melbourne contacted a mate of mine whom I always go with to the game when I am over. been working last couple of days, psychiatric nurse hard yakka et. But love it.

Oh yeah definitely, that Arsenal game was brilliant, I didn't get to go to the spurs game unfortunately but went to the game when Myhill was unbeatable and even saved a shot with his face. Best 0-0 ive seen that, in the middle of our goal... myhill!

I was asked to repossess Boothferry Park.
At the time, the grounds man was staying overnight to prevent it happening. You can’t evict anyone from a commercial property and lease forfeiture has to be peaceable entry.
I was told that the stadium would be empty at around 7:30 as the grounds man went for his tea then.
It would be an easy job as I only had to change one lock.
This was all done with the cooperation of the club owners and it was planned to stop supporters or staff preventing it. There was no surprise and it was all arranged between Lloyd and the club so that a fresh lease could be put in place.
My manager at the time said that I could have the job as it would save them paying for a hotel as if it went wrong I could be there all night. I would have got £100 for it.
I rang me Dad and asked what he thought and he said, “If you do this, don’t forget that, if it gets out, I will not be able to show my face in Greenwood.” I told him I wouldn’t take it on.
I told the office that I didn’t want the job. As a punishment, I got sent to work in Brixton for two months. It probably cost me £3k in bonus.
What happened is that they changed one door lock and one padlock. They didn’t need to even walk round checking every other door or window. A normal job would need every room and every part of the part of the stadium checked. The bailiff who did the job was there for twenty minutes.
Good story that. John Cooper was the groundsman at the time. He called a game off just after Christmas at that time, could have been on New Years Day, but a decent crowd was expected. The game was called off two days earlier on the pre text of 'a frozen pitch' The day the match should have taken place was one of the mildest days in winter for years, bright sunshine, no coat weather. But the game was called off to stop the Sheffield Mafia getting their hands on some decent gate money.
