A very incisive speech. The takeaway line is "when did following the science mean shutting down scientific debate..."
Hopefully questions will begin to be asked because the problem has been up to now that you couldn't ask. If you post anything that isn't the party line on Facebook, YouTube or Twitter your content either comes with a disclaimer or it's just removed.
The BBC's behaviour has been disgusting throughout this whole pandemic. It's because of them and the rest of the MSM that 2p is so terrified of the virus.

Hopefully people will start to question the models because they are shaping our lives. Your heating bills are going up because of models that predict climate change. In the same way that they only wanted worst case scenarios for Covid, they want the same for CC.
Why do they still listen to Neil Ferguson?

I have medical problems and have had my 3 jabs because of this but I seriously question the modelling done by these experts and the scenarios they spout out, I certainly stopped taking any notice when it was deaths predicted on an Armageddon scale......as for cc well that is an even bigger pile of dung beetle where people who question it are never given any air time and only thunderpants and Attenborough are the b all and end all....dung burger anyone

Gas has rocketed in price (up to 3 1/2 times start of 2021 price) due to a cold winter in mainland Europe and high demand for gas (usually LPG) in China. We are the biggest user of gas in Europe and the vast majority of UK housing uses gas CH - partly due to Thatcher's 'dash for gas'. That dwarfs any green levy.

Isn't it ironic that our coal production has all but finished due to the green lobby but gas is expensive

    Because it's cold!

Please, please, don't just lap up the headlines the MSM feed you.

What you can also search is why we don't use coal any more. I'll give you a clue, we have to pay a levy to use our own coal. This tax goes in someone's pocket while poorer, older people are freezing to death in homes they can't afford to heat.

Glad to see some are now starting to talk about things that really matter rather than drinks in someone’s back garden

"If yourof an age where you can afford to gamble with your health so be it
Otherwise you have to respect what you are told by those who are qualified
    All about choices"

    This?

    I must have misinterpreted it.

Heat pumps don't work in most houses in this country. You need bigger radiators and your house needs to be super insulated. If your house is super insulated then a gas boiler is a much better option, as well as being much cheaper to install.

I think too many on here think it's a bit of a joke and they are untouchable. When, like me, you have had to watch someone very close to you taken away in an ambulance knowing the only time you will see them again is the hour before they die it puts a different view on it.

Some of us read sources on geopolitics and energy beyond the MSM - and those sources are pretty consistent. I know why we don't use coal.

UK coal production and consumption was falling way, way before green issues came along as per your own graph.
The Great Smog of 1952 played an early part - right at the right hand peak of that graph. That introduced a whole series of clean air acts including moving from coal fires to gas.
Thatchers 'dash for gas' which was an attempt to take the UKs energy supply out of the control of those pesky unions and also a by-product of privatisation. We're reliant on it for heating and electricity generation.
Acid rain caused by sulphur and nitro by-products from burning coal was another nail in its coffin.
In the free market UK coal was undermined by imports eg Poland. Incidentally, eastern Europe burned loads of crappy lignite aka brown coal, which gave western Europe loads of acid rain. The EU made them stop that.
The price cap only exists because privatisation and the separation of supply, distribution and transmission companies has been a complete failure. The dividends extracted by the shareholders dwarf the green taxes on using coal.
Gas prices are driven by the suppliers - the UK imports more from northern and eastern Europe than it does from the North Sea. When Putin threatened to cut off the Ukrainian supply and to set up pipelines to bypass nations on his border who didn't toe his line, the price jumped. Very cold winter on mainland Europe - the price jumps.
Successive governments have kicked the energy policy can down the road for years. We face brownouts due to a lack of generating power. Part of that is the generators gaming the contracts and switching off supply in an attempt to get the guaranteed tariffs raised. One reason that HMG is investing in green energy is to provide competition to them and reduce the impact of this. The other is nuclear, but the likes of EDF want long duration, very high tariff guarantees before committing.
