Just wondering which alleged footballer
that is over the hill
with a made up a fictitious transfer fee - say over 30m
that we can talk about today

it seems that we are linked to everyone and their Auntie
the Agents have been working overtime getting their players better contracts and more money by staying put
on the back of Newcastle's name and new found wealth

I bet 99.9% of the names mentioned where never approached in the first place
The media make up stories of contact, then wait a couple of days then print that the contact turned us down
rinse and repeat
That’s the media agenda and can well believe it.

Could even be instigated by the players themselves. To get themselves better contracts.

Always seems to be them players with 6 months to go and at the age of 28-32 where they need that last big contract.

Still….. doesn’t help us as we don’t have any additional recruits.

Here's who we are not signing today:

Newcastle United have made an improved offer to sign Manchester United attacking midfielder Jesse Lingard on loan after having one bid rejected for the 29-year-old England international, whose contract runs out in the summer.

Newcastle United have made a bid of £14.5m for Bayer Leverkusen and Netherlands left-back Mitchel Bakker, 21

Tottenham have expressed an interest in 28-year-old Sevilla defender Diego Carlos, with Newcastle United having made a £28m bid for the Brazilian. (Mail)

Lille have said that they do not want to sell Dutch defender Sven Botman, who has been linked with Newcastle, but AC Milan are pushing to sign the 22-year-old and are in talks with the French club about a deal. (Sky Sports Italia, via Football Italia)

I'm calling it now. IF these idiots even manage to get new players in, they'll be sub-par **** and we'll get relegated anyway.

It just all feels wrong. I can't be the only one who's looking at it thinking "nah, it's not what they're saying, there's not a vast sum, there's no grand plan." I can't be alone thinking these decisions to date are Mike Ashley standard - with the key difference being, if Ashley had been here, clubs wouldn't be taking the piss and we'd likely have signed a few players already because those we're looking at are fairly average anyway!!

Howe's a **** choice, Wood is a poor striker, this Ektiike looks a worse striker than Joelinton and Carlos looks slightly less reliable than Bramble. Chasing Lingard when he's just not going to repeat the West Ham heroics, the futile chase for Botman, the conflicting reports everywhere.

It all just feels really off to me.

In a good mood?

I knew we weren't signing the other 3, but time to add Bakker to the failed signings then.

I was certain multiple journos who have shown in the past either a direct or indirect feed into Staveley told us there'd be signings by Weds/Thur this week.

She couldn't be full of **** again, could she?

Newcastle are going to land lingard and Carlos soon.

Taking the spend to around 80ms in 3 weeks

Surely people will stop moaning after that?

I mean they'll Likely spend more and more right up until the last hours of deadline day.

Let's just enjoy it lads

No mate. Some would still moan if we spent £200m. 14 years of Ashley has meant it's in our DNA. A few forget quickly what transfer windows under the fat **** were like.

We'll stop moaning when it ****ing happens!

We've already spent close to 40 ms after 2 weeks.

It's all down to fans thinking they know what the challenge entails and fans thinking I'd just do this or that. Why why why wah wah wah. It's irritating. Man up

It's crystal the clubs trying it's crystal clear that the futures bright whether we stay up or not

All we wanted was a club that tries? Obviously that was utter garbage.. They have unrealistic expectations just like everyone has been saying for decades.

And good morning btw

Both of yous are missing the point,it's nothing to do with how much money is spent ,it's to do with getting players in the door and decent ones at that,Ashley's reign is hanging over the club like a bad smell with the current squad fs we can't even field/try youth players because of how threadbare we are as the cup game showed.

No it's not it's about the long term business plan. Just buying anyone is a waste of time.

Let them get on with it and judge in a reasonable time period. Like Feb the 1st for example..

Why have we got to listen to people moan and moan and moan before the window is even shut..

Because unlike you none of us want to see the club get relegated.

Don't care what we've already spent, we need more players.

It is indeed a good morning.
