For all we know Illicali may be worse. There is no evidence he will be financially reckless, and all the signs are pointing that him taking over from the Allams will be a much needed re-boot for the club and I'm really looking forward to it. However, any new owner for any club brings uncertainty - you spins the wheel, you takes your chances.

Financialy reckless? That to me is the very definition of any owner of a private jet. If it flies, floats or f****s - rent it.

I recall an old boy I used to know that lived his life like that. He never married, and just used prostitutes when the need arose. He argued he never paid them for sex, he paid them to **** off afterwards. :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Brilliant. I have heard after somewhat hefty divorce settlements a couple of guys saying they wished they had gone down the rental route. but paying them to leave??? I'm still laughing.

Lifted from the gruniard, an article on Readings demise

It is a similar story to Derby in that exorbitant spending has been a key factor in Reading’s demise from play-off finalists five years ago to the prospect of lining up in the third tier for the first time since 2002. Reading’s 2019-20 accounts show a wages-to-turnover ratio of 216%.

216 per ********** cent???

Anybody still a tad miffed the sale of City to these people fell through?
Hmm and some on here were complaining they should have bought us

Blimey, it sounds like somehow Derby have delayed administration, largely caused by debts secured on the stadium, by borrowing money secured to the stadium. :emoticon-0126-nerd:

Boro's chairman will be well chuffed they've done that.

Gibson doesn’t sound too happy with Derby’s administors…

I was going to post that, but the version I saw was more difficult to read. Point 5 is very cutting, as it is basically flagging up the administrators are making a tidy sum, but not actually moving things forward.

Burnley next?

"During the initial takeover the investment firm, ran by Alan Pace, fronted up £15m with £60m coming from a loan, and the rest from the club's own resources in order to fund the process."

Sold Chris Wood to make the next payment to the outgoing owners. Relegation could make things interesting.
