If they commit a crime, arrest them. Why do we need new legislation to counter crime?

Oh dear ****ing tragic post. Point out where I’ve supported anyone stopping ambulances? Go on show me stating I agree with that? Or you could just retract that.

That’s not the issue it’s the right to protest that is being ****ed on, it’s the sorta thing that would have made the suffragettes actions illegal, maybe you’d have wanted that?

There are other laws in place to deal with idiots gluing themselves to public highways. This is a total red herring to draw the focus away from what’s actually being done.

John Vane’s London: Liz Truss rumpus at QPR
    16th January 2022
Lay off the Foreign Secretary, OK?
    JOHN VANE
Queens Park Rangers football club is famous for Les Ferdinand, Ron Springett, Stan Bowles, Trevor Sinclair, Rodney Marsh and its compact, friendly ground in Shepherd’s Bush.

Three former school friends, now in their early sixties, have been season ticket holders there for many years. They sit in the same seats for every home game. One of the seats in front of them is always occupied by the same man, a fellow season ticket holder. Despite this proximity and shared loved of QPR, the three friends and the man in front had never spoken to each other until the other day.

The friends have had enough of Boris Johnson. As they waited for the kick-off they gave voice to their disapproval.

    “Boris Johnson, what a liar.”

“Boris Johnson, not fit for office.”

    “Boris Johnson, what a turd.”

Or words to that effect. Talk turned to the Prime Minister’s possible successors. Not much to lift the spirits as far as the three old friends were concerned.

“Rishi Sunak, you must be joking.”

    “Liz Truss, no thanks.”

    Or comments along those lines.

That was when the trouble started. The man in front turned round. He wasn’t happy. He exploded:

“This is football not the Houses of Commons! I don’t want to listen to you talking politics!”

A moment of stunned silence. How should the friends respond to this rebuke?

“We’re just talking,” said one of the friends.

“I don’t want to hear it, right?” said the man in front, seething visibly.

    Tensions rose.

“Calm down, you might hurt yourself.”

“I mean it, that’s enough!” The man in front was standing up by now. He jabbed an angry finger. “And lay off Liz Truss!” he roared.

Foreign press reviews of Boris Johnson from this week:
“…..what he has always been: a seducer and a loudmouth” Süddeutsche Zeitung, Germany
“This time, the contempt towards the people is flagrant” Le Monde, France
“..displays an entitled lack of respect…to those who abided by the restrictions” New York Times, USA
“…(his lies) invalidate him from holding public office” El Mundo, Spain
“….must take responsibility for his mistakes” Le Soir, Belgium
“…the rules apply to them (the people) and apparently not to the political leadership” NRC Handelsblättern, The Netherlands
“…(Sunak’s) chance to move into number 10 could come at any moment” La Repubblica, Italy

Of course these our are enemies and can be disregarded. They haven’t even had the decency to wait for Sue Gray’s report before rushing to judgement!

Meanwhile a majority of voters want Johnson to go. Including a majority of those who voted Tory last time. But only 25% of Tory party members (the Tory party is very secretive about its membership numbers, but a past chairman claimed they had 180,000 in July 2019), want him gone, surfing the wrong zeitgeist as ever…..

Also seems that the ‘red meat’ supposed populist diversion tactic of having a pop at the BBC has hit the rocks already. On Sunday walking oxymoron Culture Secretary Nadine Dorries tweeted that the licence fee would end in 2028. Yesterday in Parliament she said BBC funding in future needed to be discussed…possibly recognising that funding the BBC won’t be decided on her watch.

And show me where I said you have supported stopping ambulances? You always seem to stick for these wasters. As soon as 'protest' is mentioned you are on here quicker than a Tory party invite. You have said yourself you are other forums discussing politics... if fact If I remember you have even said you have been on demo's. so don't play the 'not me guv' card. Its just a shame you aren't on the footy threads as quick.

I will say one thing, if these protesters blocked the roads on Saturday and stopped many QPR fans from seeing the game, there would be a different feeling for them on here. thats a fact... except one.

Has anyone on here actually stuck up for these idiots who stop the public from going about their business?
They are idiots and the law is there to deal with them, but to stop all protests in general will turn us even closer to that dictatorship we seem to be heading towards.

Is anybody disputing the fact that Insulate Britain are cretins?

Just standing up for the people's right to protest, which the government want to slowly take away.

And the twitter post by that knobhead was totally skewing the facts.

Well, I think we're all agreed, the Insulate Britain mob are selfish ****wits, some would say economic terrorists, who must be stopped from preventing law abiding citizens from going about their daily business.

Equally, the right to protest is a precious right integral to the democracy of our country, which must nevertheless be exercised responsibly.

The rest is down to the wording of draft bill put forward by the government, and at present, I'm not sufficiently familiar with the detail to take sides between Commons and Lords. Happy to be enlightened by anyone who is...
