I would have thought we had enough strikers to cobble dogs with! http://www.prestonnorthend-mad.co.uk/news/tmnw/norwich_eyeing_proctor_708817/index.shtml?
do we need another striker? yes. definitely. i don't get this. just because we have a large number of players who play in this position doesn't mean we shouldn't attempt to improve in that area by signing better players than what we have! if he is better than what we have we sign him and sell one of our current forwards. must confess i know very little about the lad - i also see we've been linked with Dmitri Sychev who i know a little more about - very quick player with a decent eye for goal having seen him in europe.
Has to be Jordan Rhodes for me! 2 in 14 is not good enough for that preston geeza. Want a striker bang in form, just like ashton was... where did you see sychev linked with us superman??
don't just judge a player on his goal scoring record!! great strikers don't always score enormous amounts of goals. it'd be very foolish to write a striker off because he only scored 2 in 14. he is just a kid breaking through! shearer only scored about 10 goals in his first 100-odd games! its all about his style and ability.
Rhodes doesn't half look bad for an ex-binner. I'm sure Lambert is lining up 2 or 3 for January transfer window, especially young players who won't count towards our 25.
I'm with Clean Holtys boots on this one he looks a bit ****. I'd like to see us go abroad and get someone in, there is always a hidden gem to be unearthed. We need pace and technical abilty we've got enough workhorse style forwards.
I agree, it might signal the end for one or more already at the club. No way that Holt, Morrison or Vaughan would be going anywhere. I think it is also unlikely that Jackson would be allowed to go. Chris Martin might be allowed a loan move and I would suggest that the prem is a league too far for Wilbs (maybe two). Certainly would not be upset to see us sign another striker even if it did mean allowing Wilbs to go. He has done nothing wrong, just cant see him breaking into the side and so see no point in holding on to him.
i don't understand the philosophy of 'we've already got enough'... there is ALWAYS room for improvement! i think people forget how quickly we've come up and we need better players if we are to keep on progressing. its only natural to get attached to the players we have, especially after what they've achieved, but there are far, far better players out there than martin, jackson, wilbraham, holt etc... one thing is for sure, lambert won't hesitate to make a move if it'll improve the team, even if it means the end for one of our heroes - thats just life i'm afraid. some players won't be here much longer...
Jackson hasn't had a look in this season, maybe it's time to cash in (in jan) on his form from the back end of last season depending on who is on the Market to get in
the key to success is to buy when you are doing well! we don't need any upstarts, just talented players from the lower leagues, looking to make an impression at the highest level. the formula is correct - no need to buy expensive players, just small improvements here and there.
You think if a good enough player became available that the likes on Man U or Citeh wouldn't buy them? of course they would. There is always room for improvement. The bonus is that I now trust the management at Norwich to buy player because they are better than what we have, not just to get extra faces in for the sake of it.
